Triplets Attack: One Night With The CEO Free Preview

Chapter 1

At the Fiesta Hotel.

"Yes, it's Room 503. He's gonna meet you there."

"Got it." Hanging up the phone, Marilyn swept the room card and went in.

She was sent here by her sister Sandra to deliver some urgent papers to Mr. Hamilton, a critical partner of her family business.

Just as Marilyn was about to turn on the light, a sharp knock came from the corridor.

She opened the door without hesitation.

"Good after..." Marilyn barely finished her greetings when she got roughly pushed back abruptly.

"I need your help," the man said bluntly between ragged breathing.

"S-Sure... But are...y-you Mr. H-Ham...?" Marilyn asked in a shaking voice out of fear. She wasn't prepared for something like this.

"Just follow my instructions. I won't hurt you." Ignoring her question, the man approached closer until Marilyn's back was squashed up against the wall.

In the dark room, Marilyn couldn't see the face of the man. She could only hear her heart thumping.

Intimidated by the aggressive aura exuding from the man, she dared not to utter one more word.

With his body pressed closely against hers, Marilyn could feel the huff of his breath against her cheek.

As the man ran his hands up her sides and back at her hips, Marilyn found her legs so weak that she could hardly stand.

"Damn it! I shouldn't have drunk the stupid wine," Marilyn cursed.

She was at a banquet held in her villa before coming here. Now she felt both dizzy and sleepy, her mind in a complete mess.

She wanted to push the man off her, but her body wanted more of his touches.

Marilyn even felt a jolt when the man pinched her already-stiffening tits, which electrified her blood and skin. The tiny hair on her arms stood on end.

Just as she was immersed in a trance, a clear sound pierced through the quiet room.

"Ahhhh!!!!" Marilyn screamed in shock as the upper part of her body was exposed to the cold air.

The man had tore her dress apart rudely!

Before Marilyn figured out what was going on, she found herself clasped by the waist by the man, her feet in the air.

The next minute, she was thrown onto the bed and the man crawled above her, running his mouth from her juicy lips, to her delicate neck, to her lush breasts, and all the way down to her belly button.

Marilyn finally lost the last bit of strength to resist. Actually, she kind of enjoyed all these touches and intimacy from this masculinity.

After sucking, biting and licking her nipples for like a century, the man's mouth left suddenly, leaving Marilyn feeling empty inside.

Just as she was about to ask for more, the man filled her emptiness with his hardness.

"Ahhhh!!! It hurts! It hurts so much!" Marilyn cired in discomfort.

"It'll be fine in a while. Hang in there." A man's voice came near her ear. It was low and with somewhat suppressed pain.

He thrust in and out slowly at first and then stepped up the pace gradually. After a long while, the man finally stopped and let out a deep breath, and Marilyn had fainted under him.

The room was so dark that the man couldn't see Marilyn's face clearly either, but he could smell her sweetness.

********

Early next morning.

When Marilyn opened her eyes again, it was as if her entire body had been crushed. She felt pain all over.

After a long time, Marilyn gathered herself and felt someone beside her!

Eyes widening in shock, Marilyn checked herself and realized what had happened.

She was so scared that she felt at a loss. Her whole body was like on fire!

Marilyn was trembling uncontrollably. She bit her lips tightly, and the intense pain calmed her down.

She got off bed immediately and groped for her bag and her phone in the dark.

There were two things next to her phone. She didn't think too much and put them all in her bag.

Then, she put on her coat over the torn dress, stumbling out of the room in pain.

An hour later, Marilyn finally returned to her villa in Fielddell.

Just as she was about to open the door, she heard someone talking inside.

"Why did mom and Sandra wake up so early?" Marilyn thought to herself when her hand stopped on the door handle.

"Mom, you've spent a lot on Marilyn over these past few years. Now she finally became useful. Mr. Hamilton is a lustful man. He only wants virgins. Marilyn happens to suit his taste. I didn't expect that she could earn 2 million dollars for us."

"Indeed. All my efforts have paid off today."

Hearing the conversation, Marilyn was deeply shocked and felt her heart aching badly.

"If other clients make the same request as Mr. Hamilton, we can send Marilyn over again. She's definitely a great help to our family business. I put a pill in her wine last night and it really worked!"

Sandra was very proud of what she had done, and her voice couldn't sound more vicious.

"Remeber to say something nice to calm her down when she comes back home. That idiot will buy whatever we say. She has always been obedient since she was a child. I've invested in her for twelve years in vain. We gotta get something back from her step by step."

Marilyn would never expect that her beautiful foster mother, whom she had always admired, would become so ugly at this moment.

"Mom, it's really a wise decision that you took her home after hitting her while driving. She not only lost her memory, but gotta make money for us." Sandra smiled evilly, narrowing her eyes disgustingly.

Marilyn couldn't believe her ears! She breathed vehemently with anger. Her hand holding the door handle shook.

She thought that she was an orphan brought back home by the Chambers family. Now she knew that it wasn't true.

"She fainted after getting hit by my car. I thought she was dead, so I threw her into the trunk. I had planned to take her out of the city and bury her secretly, but she turned out to survive.

"I then realized that that she had lost her memory. I don't want to be charged with murder, so your father and I lied and told her that she was adopted from the orphanage. She was well-dressed back then and seemed to come from a rich family."

Mrs. Chambers raised her head proudly. Her vicious voice echoed in Marilyn's ears, causing her head to ache badly.

Marilyn instinctively clenched her fist, but accidentally made a noise.

"Who's there?" Sandra's harsh voice sounded from inside.

Marilyn was startled. Then she ran out of the Chambers family's villa.

Marilyn ran all the way nonstop. It was still early. There were few pedestrians on the road.

The morning fog was thick. Tears blurred her eyes, and her body trembled involuntarily.

The beautiful foster mother she had always respected set her up!

The sister whom she had always loved and protected, treated her as a tool to make money!

Marilyn felt that her world was collapsing, and she was in such despair that she couldn't feel anything else but pain.

Immersed in tremendous grief, she ran into the road when a dark red sports car was speeding over.

In a flash, a long braking horn sounded.

The next minute, Marilyn realized she was on the road, her eyes blurred by tears contracted violently.

With the sound of a bang, Marilyn's body flew up and hit back onto the ground in a short distance.

She lay motionless on the ground, her face ghastly pale. The red blood sprang from the back of her head.

As her vision gradually blurred, she vaguely saw a slender figure walking towards her.

But she smiled in despair. She thought it was good. There was nothing to miss in this world anyway.

Marilyn slowly closed her eyes, tears streaming down from the corners of her eyes.

Chapter 2

********

Seven years later.

Fielddell Airport.

There was a six-year-old boy in a white T-shirt and blue jeans, with a pair of sunglasses on his handsome little face. His pink lips were slightly pursed.

The little boy was protected by a group of bodyguards. He walked out of the airport exit. Behind him was a beautiful woman in a black dress. Her wavy hair was simple but fashionable. She carefully protected the little boy.

"Look, he is here. It's the famous child star, Arturo Chapman."

"He is so cool!"

"Even the way he walks is cool!"

Arturo's fans kept screaming.

At the exit of the airport, a lot of people were taking photos of Arturo with their phones.

Arturo, the child star who had recently become famous throughout the country, was only six years old, but he was very well-known.

He smiled at his fans around him and thanked them warmly before getting in a black van.

With no more of the noise outside, Arturo quickly took out his phone and dialed a phone number with his thin fingers.

One, two, Arturo muttered in his mind, and before he could say the number three, the phone call was answered.

Arturo's mouth curled up slightly, and he said in a soft voice, "Mom, where are you?"

On the highway to the city center. In a taxi.

"Arturo, mom is on the highway." The woman who answered the phone was wearing a simple and elegant dress. Her face was delicate and pretty. Her beautiful curly hair was dyed a charming light brown, which made her look mature.

"Good. Mom, you must remember to come and watch my performance." Arturo's voice was soft and pleasant.

The woman's plump lips curved up slightly, and she smiled happily. "Okay, I will come to you later. Remember to send the location to me."

"Okay, mom!"

The woman smiled and hung up. The smile at the corner of her mouth slowly disappeared.

She looked out the window at everything she was familiar with. Her eyes gradually turned cold and her mind gradually drifted away.

It had been seven years, and she had finally returned to the city that had torn her apart.

On the day she graduated from university, she was dragged to a luxurious banquet by the Chambers family. She was drugged by Sandra. In the end, after a night with Mr. Hamilton, she was pregnant with rare triplets.

When she returned to the Chambers family's villa and heard the conversation between Sandra and her foster mother, she ran out of the villa and never came back for seven years.

She was not the Chambers family's biological daughter. When she was six years old, she was adopted by the Chambers family after being hit by a car. Although it was said that she was adopted, the life she had in this family was even worse than a servant.

She once thought that after she graduated from university, she could find a job to be free from the control of the Chambers family. However, she did not expect that after she graduated from university, what awaited her was a snare.

She was pregnant because of that snare. Maybe the man's genes were really good so she had triplets.

Two sons and one daughter.

Back then, no matter how she tried to grasp her life, she couldn't succeed.

However, youth was a ceremonious banquet that would end plainly.

In seven years, she became calm and strong.

And after that night, she wanted to escape the city. Marilyn was not badly injured during that car accident. And the person who hit her had now become her good friend. It was all her credit that Marilyn could have what she had today.

Marilyn had been gone for seven years, and it was time for her to come back now. She knew that some things could not be avoided.

She wouldn't let go of those who had hurt her and she decided to find her biological parents. She had to find them.

Her surname was Chambers, and after she went to Goldmere, she changed her surname to Chapman. Now she was called Marilyn Chapman.

Bang.

An ear-piercing braking sound came from the front of a taxi, followed by an intense crash.

The taxi driver stopped instantly and Marilyn leaned forward uncontrollably.

Marilyn was hit at the front of the taxi. She became dizzy at once.

"Miss, there seems to be an accident. The brake might have failed to work," The taxi driver in the front seat said.

Marilyn shook her head and looked at the scene of the car accident. It was about six in the morning, and there were very few cars on the highway.

Marilyn did not think much about it and quickly opened the car door and got off.

"Miss, you haven't paid yet," The middle-aged taxi driver shouted at Marilyn who ran out as if he didn't want to get involved in this accident.

Marilyn frowned slightly. She took out the money from her shoulders and handed it to the driver. In the end, she ran to the place where the accident happened without looking back.

The taxi she took just now drove past her.

Her white skirt was lifted by the air and she quickly took out her phone to make an emergency call.

The car that had an accident was a limo. Marilyn walked over and patted the window.

"Sir, are you alright?" Through the car window, Marilyn saw a man lying on the steering wheel with blood on his forehead, and the airbag had ejected out.

"Sir, sir..." Marilyn called out a few more times, but the person inside still did not respond.

Marilyn reached out to pull the car door, but she did not expect the car door could really be opened.

"Sir, are you alright?" Marilyn looked at the man lying on the steering wheel, who seemed to still have some consciousness, with blood flowing down from his head.

"Sir, are you okay?" Marilyn helped him up and saw that his forehead was still bleeding. The blood dripped along his cheek onto his expensive white shirt, which now was tinted with red blood.

Marilyn was shocked by the red blood.

She quickly rummaged through her backpack and took the soft handkerchief. Her hand tightened. The handkerchief was printed with the picture that her daughter won an award by it. Marilyn couldn't think too much and pressed the wound on the man's forehead with the handkerchief.

It was still early, and there were very few cars on the highway. Even if there were cars passing by, they wouldn't notice this because they drove very quickly.

Marilyn was anxious, hoping that the ambulance would come soon.

Just as she turned sideways, her arm was suddenly held tightly by a big hand.

Marilyn looked at the man quickly. The man looked in great pain and his face was covered in blood. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he couldn't succeed.

"Sir, please hold on. The ambulance will be here soon."

Marilyn's hand was already stained with blood. She frowned slightly and waited for about twenty minutes before seeing the ambulance.

When the paramedics carried the man onto the stretcher, the man still held her hand and did not let go. Marilyn thought that she could take the ambulance back to the city, so she got on the ambulance too.

In a hospital in Fielddell, in a ward full of disinfectant water, the man lying on the bed had already been treated properly. The man's injury was not serious. He had a slight concussion and now a few stitches on his forehead.

Only then did Marilyn take a closer look at the man's appearance. His fair skin now had a touch of morbid paleness. His facial features were distinct and deep, revealing a cold, angular edge. He had thick eyebrows and a high nose bridge, and the shape of his lips was beautiful. He seemed to be a noble gentleman. A handsome man like him was very rare.

But Marilyn seemed to have seen this handsome face somewhere else before.

Chapter 3

Marilyn never meant to stay, for she had stuff to do. Yet the nurse asked her to keep an eye on the man's condition. So she had no choice but to stick around for now. "When his family shows up, I'll be good to go," she thought.

While she was waiting, sleepiness kicked in. Then she dozed off by the bedside.

Malcolm, who was lying on the bed, slowly opened his eyes. After glancing around the room, he found himself in a hospital.

Suddenly, someone's phone rang, repeating the same line from a song over and over.

Annoyed by the noise, Malcolm furrowed his brows.

Marilyn, hearing the familiar ringtone, reached into her backpack on her knees and answered the call without looking up.

"Hi, Arturo." Since she just woke up, her voice was a bit raspy, sounding muffled.

"Mommy, this is Laverne," the little girl replied in a displeased voice.

"Sorry, babe, I didn't check the caller ID. What's up?" Marilyn shook her head to drive the drowsiness away.

Turned out Laverne was just calling to check if Marilyn had arrived safe and sound.

After a bit of chit-chat, Marilyn hung up the phone. Then she stretched her sore arms, yawning. When she looked up, she met the gaze of the man on the bed. Startled, she slightly furrowed her brows. Still, she managed to finish her stretch before slowly standing up.

"Sir, now that you're awake, I should get going. You may call your family to come take care of you," she piped up, her tone cold and distant.

"So you saved me?" Malcolm's voice was low and deep, sounding intimidating.

With that, he started to scrutinize the pretty lady in front of him. She got wavy brown curls, her features fine and delicate. Her big, clear eyes added to her charm. Yet her white dress was stained with blood.

He had seen loads of women, but none of them were as pure and beautiful as her. Somehow, he found her eyes familiar.

Marilyn glanced at the clock, only to find it was already past six. If she didn't leave now, she would be late for Arturo's piano competition. So she didn't have time to be distressed about Malcolm's rudeness.

"Sir, it was the doctor who saved you. All I did was call 911. And the ambulance happened to give me a ride into the city. So I guess I'll have to thank you instead. Gotta go, bye," she blurted out.

She turned around and left in a hurry.

Malcolm fixed his gaze on her receding figure, a cold smile tugging at his lips.

"No woman has ever ignored me like that. She's quite something. And her answer surprises me, too," he thought to himself.

As Marilyn was taking the escalator downstairs, a sharp-dressed, handsome guy was rushing up.

She then glanced at her phone to check the location Arturo had sent her. It was kinda far away, so she gotta hurry up.

"Malcolm, thank god you're here. I've searched almost every hospital in Fielddell for you." Julian panted as he looked at Malcolm, who was lying on the bed with an indifferent expression.

"Someone tampered with the brakes. Look into it thoroughly when you get back," Malcolm ordered coldly, his voice laced with fury. A sharp glint flashed in his deep eyes, souring the atmosphere in the room.

Julian nodded, his face grim.

"Excuse me, sir, I left something here," Marilyn cut them off, out of breath from the running.

A sneer curved Malcolm's lips, as he thought, "Is she playing hard to get?"

The reason Marilyn rushed back was that she realized she had left her handkerchief in the ward. It was a gift from her daughter, so it meant a lot to her.

She frantically searched around, only to find nothing.

As she clutched her forehead in frustration, she thought, "I remembered I had been holding it the whole time!"

She quickly got down on her knees and looked under the bed, but it wasn't there either.

Just then, a middle-aged cleaner working in the hospital came in.

Marilyn quickly walked over, asking, "Ma'am, did you see a bloody handkerchief while cleaning the ward?"

The cleaner shook her head. "Miss, I haven't cleaned this one yet."

Marilyn wondered, "Could it be that I left it in the ambulance? No way. I'd been holding it the whole time."

Then, she took out paper and pen, wrote down her number, and handed it to the cleaner.

"Ma'am, this is my phone number. If you find the handkerchief, please call me. I'll thank you properly. It's very important to me."

"Alright, I'll call you if I see it," replied the cleaner. Then she took the number before starting to mop the floor.

Marilyn nodded, putting away her pen and paper.

Just then, her phone rang again. She answered it as she made way for the door.

From her entrance to her departure, she didn't even take a single glance at Julian and Malcolm.

Watching her walk away, Julian couldn't help feeling a bit stunned.

"Malcolm, who is she? Why is she in such a hurry? But I gotta admit, she's gorgeous!" exclaimed Julian.

Malcolm remained silent, thinking, "What a lame excuse! She thinks I'll buy that? I've seen countless women using this trick to get my attention."

He narrowed his eyes, his demeanor icy and aloof, giving off a vibe that kept people at a distance.

After the cleaner left, Malcolm pulled back the covers, planning to leave. He hated hospitals.

Unexpectedly, he spotted a bloody handkerchief on the bed!

That woman must've pushed it under the covers while she was napping here.

"Julian, go ask that cleaner for the woman's phone number. Get a bag and take this handkerchief back," Malcolm demanded, a smirk on his face. "Let's see what trick she's gonna play this time," he thought, totally forgetting that she had saved his life.

"Got it!" Julian read Malcolm's mind from his expression. Then he turned to get the number.

When Marilyn left the hospital, she suddenly realized that it was rush hour. And the traffic was a nightmare.

She waited for a while, yet no cabs stopped for her. So Roland was her only hope. She prayed that he could come ASAP so she could make it to the piano competition in time.

When Malcolm and Julian came out of the hospital, they noticed Marilyn, who was standing by the roadside.

While Julian went to get the car, Malcolm waited on the spot.

Malcolm had changed into an expensive custom-made suit, looking all classy and elegant. He glanced at the sealed bag with the bloody handkerchief in his hand. Then, he looked up at the beauty waiting at the curb.

"Lynn, over here!" A handsome guy on a motorcycle called out to Marilyn from a distance.

With a smile, Marilyn ran toward him.

She quickly hopped on, and the motorcycle roared past Malcolm.

"Lynn," Malcolm muttered as he stared at her departing figure, a look of pain glinting in his deep eyes.

"Her name's Lynn," he thought.

In the sunset, his tall figure seemed to be shrouded in a deep sadness.

The name was like a taboo, and no one dared to bring it up before him. Now, hearing someone else calling it out, he felt so heartbroken that even breathing gave him pain.

"Dude, get in the car," Julian called out with a smile, pulling up in front of Malcolm.

Chapter 4

Malcolm took a long moment before finally pulling his gaze back and walking to Julian gracefully.

After getting in the car, he leaned back in the seat and closed his eyes, trying to hide his feelings. Yet his clenched jaw gave away his emotional turmoil.

The wound on his forehead throbbed faintly, but it was nothing compared to the ache in his heart.

Before Julian started the car, he glanced at Malcolm through the rearview mirror.

Then he couldn't help feeling puzzled. It had been ages since he last saw Malcolm look this wretched.

As the richest man in Fielddell and the CEO of the Lowe Group, Malcolm was a formidable figure in the business world. He was the definition of cold and unapproachable, oozing innate elegance.

Ruthlessness and decisiveness were his middle name. Rumor had it that whoever offended him would die a miserable death.

If it weren't for their years of friendship, Julian wouldn't have dared to sit in the same car with him. His very existence was overwhelming.

Snapping out of it, Julian drove the car silently, not daring to disturb Malcolm.

After a long time, Malcolm finally calmed himself down. "Julian, her name's Lynn," he piped up.

Upon hearing this, Julian tightened his grip on the steering wheel.

As a friend, he knew whom Malcolm was talking about no doubt. It was Carolyn Remington, Malcolm's childhood sweetheart.

He wondered inwardly, "Malcolm never allows anyone to mention Carolyn. Why did he bring it up today?"

Julian believed that people failed to enjoy their lives because they couldn't let go of the past. Having too many obsessions ruined one's mood, distorted the soul, and jeopardized mental and physical wellness. Unfortunately, that was what Malcolm was like now.

He was so obsessed with finding Carolyn that he always felt blue. Julian had never seen him have a hearty laugh for years.

In this materialistic and competitive world, people were always faced with challenges and troubles. One must learn to adjust, understand what to hold onto, and what to let go.

Malcolm, however, had never given up on finding Carolyn.

Annoyed by the traffic jam, Malcolm knitted his brows.

Through the rearview mirror, Julian could tell that Malcolm had regained his composure. So he smiled and asked, "Malcolm, wanna grab a drink? I've been looking for you all day, and I haven't had the time to eat anything yet."

He chose to avoid the topic of Carolyn, as it wasn't suitable to discuss it now.

Under the dim light, Malcolm gave a nod. The setting sun cast an orange glow on him, setting off his chiseled features, making him look even more striking and distinguished.

Scrutinizing Malcolm's face, Julian suggested, "How about we dine at our regular place, Saffron Spice Kitchen?"

"Alright," Malcolm replied flatly before closing his eyes again.

A deep sense of melancholy devoured him as he wondered to himself, "Can I ever find Lynn? Am I meant to be alone my whole life?"

Carolyn left him, and so did his mom. The only thing that stayed by his side was probably his shadows.

It had been eighteen years since Carolyn went missing.

So she was now twenty-four. He bet she had become a gorgeous lady.

Nevertheless, he still got no trace of her.

He suddenly felt like getting boozed.

The night when Carolyn went missing was the worst day of his life. And whenever he got inebriated, he would dream of it. Even so, he wanted to get drunk tonight.

Typically, folks like Malcolm hit up fancy bars, but ever since he got drugged at a hotel bar seven years ago, he loathed those places.

Instead, he preferred to drink at upscale, elegant restaurants.

Even for business dinners, he'd choose his own hotel.

That was also why he treated the girl who had saved him like that. He was sick of all those schemes and intrigues.

Malcolm exhaled deeply, a few strands of hair falling over his forehead, making him look lonely and helpless.

Meanwhile, Marilyn and Roland arrived at the venue for today's piano competition.

Roland parked his limited-edition motorcycle downstairs.

As Marilyn got off, she noticed the bloodstain on her dress.

Frowning, she whispered, "Roland, what should I do? If I go in like this, Arturo'll definitely be scared."

Roland took off his helmet, revealing his sunny, handsome face.

In simple jeans and a patterned shirt, he looked vibrant and energetic, his smart look adding to his fashion vibe.

As he fixed his gaze on Marilyn, he couldn't help marveling at her change.

Seven years ago, she was so naïve and inexperienced. But after years of hard work, she had transformed into a mature, confident career woman, exuding elegance and irresistible charm.

When Roland saw the blood on Marilyn's white dress, he furrowed his brows.

Checking his watch, he piped up, "But we're already late. It's nearly seven, and Arturo's competition is halfway through."

"Then what should we do? My luggage is still in transit, and there's no clothing store nearby." Marilyn stared at her dress with bloodstains all over the hem.

Soon, she had an idea. As a fashion designer, solving such a small problem should be a piece of cake for her.

With a grin, she looked up at Roland and asked, "Do you have scissors?"

Roland instantly knew what she was going to do. He quickly pulled out the bike key, opened the trunk, and handed her a red pair of scissors.

Marilyn took it, her lips curling into a confident smile.

She then bent down and cut the hem with bloodstains into a wavy edge. It didn't look strange at all. Instead, it made her legs look longer and slimmer, adding to her sex appeal.

Satisfied, she nodded, thinking, "A woman can be gentle, sassy, or elegant, but she should always stay neat!"

"Lynn, you live up to your reputation as the top designer. You saved this bloody dress," Roland exclaimed, gaping in amazement.

Marilyn returned him the scissors, chuckling, "Let's go, Roland. Or we'll miss the whole performance."

"Sure!" Roland quickly put the scissors back.

They then trotted into the building, catching the elevator just in time. As the doors closed, Roland hit the button for the 26th floor.

As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, they heard beautiful piano music. Marilyn could tell that it was from her son, Arturo. So she rushed even faster toward the competition area.

Chapter 5

The venue was crowded. Arturo, the prodigy who had recently become a sensation, had caught the attention of the entire country. So today's competition was being broadcast nationwide.

Many reporters were surrounding the handsome Arturo playing the piano on stage, snapping photos of him.

Arturo was dressed formally today—in a black suit with a bow tie. His thick, black hair was fluffy, making him look even more handsome. While playing the piano, he exuded elegance.

Marilyn looked at him with a smile, feeling lucky for her choice. Due to fear of the financial burden and the gossip, many unmarried girls who got knocked up would choose to terminate the pregnancy.

When she found out she was pregnant, she was scared too. But it was just momentary.

Since she had no family and barely any friends, the children in her belly would become her only hope and family. Thus, she chose to keep them.

When she found out she was expecting triplets during a prenatal checkup, she was shocked. But soon, joy overwhelmed her.

It was a blessing for her to carry three cuties at a time! Since then, she had made up her mind to bring them up all by herself, no matter how hard it would be.

As long as she had them, she had the courage to keep going. Now, the reality proved her right. Her three kids—Dominic, Arturo, and Laverne—brought endless good fortune to her life since their births.

"Lynn, Roland!" exclaimed Jeannie Harrison not far away.

In fact, she was the person who had run Marilyn over seven years ago. By a strange twist of fate, they then became good friends.

Without Jeannie, Marilyn and her kids couldn't have made it this far.

Now, Jeannie was the godmother of the triplets as well as Arturo's agent.

Today, she was wearing a tight red dress that showcased her long, slender legs, oozing sexuality from every pore.

Her red curly hair and delicate, charming features radiated her unique professional aura as she walked over with a bright smile, like Marilyn was her cash cow.

She piped up, "Marilyn, you know what? The moment Arturo started his performance, the whole room erupted in applause. And the piece was his own composition, titled 'My Mother.'"

Marilyn couldn't help feeling touched. She glanced at Arturo on stage, a doting smile on her face.

Then Jeannie went on, "You are so lucky! Having given birth to such a money-spinner."

Marilyn immediately turned around and glared at her. "Jeannie, I don't get you. Roland is such a handsome hunk. Why don't you promote him instead of my son?"

Upon hearing her words, Roland put on a heartbroken look and pleaded, "Lynn, give me a break. I prefer fashion design. You know, making money off women."

"Brat, do you think it's that easy to earn money from women?" Jeannie glowered at Roland, shaking her head. It was such a waste not to make him a celebrity.

She wanted to make both Arturo and Roland popular, yet Roland was adamant about focusing on his career.

Now, he was the richest man in Goldmere, and the only trustworthy friend he had was Marilyn.

Roland glanced at Marilyn, his eyes sparkling as he replied, "Jeannie, ask Lynn if you wanna know the answer. The clothes she designed are pricey, yet countless girls are dying to buy them.

"Shame that she's a traitor. She chose the Lowe Group's branch company instead of us. Well, I guess it's my fault. I should've worked harder to make us more competitive."

Marilyn frowned, her red lips pouting as she playfully punched Roland in the chest. "What are you talking about? You know I took the job at the Lowe Group for other reasons."

Working there would give her a shot at buying the shares of the Chambers Enterprise, which was part of her plan for revenge.

Roland gazed at Marilyn, a flicker of pity in his eyes.

Suddenly, a round of applause sounded, attracting the attention of the three.

Jeannie smiled, "Let's go. Don't dwell on this unpleasant stuff. Let's go and watch Arturo play the piano."

Roland took Marilyn and Jeannie by the hand, leading them towards the nearby seats.

In the Saffron Spice Kitchen.

The light music was uplifting.

In the lavishly decorated private room, the table was laden with a feast, but Malcolm didn't have a single bite. Instead, he kept drinking wine.

On the wall of the room, a live broadcast of Arturo's competition was playing, and Julian was watching it with great interest.

Immersed in the smooth and soulful piano melody, he sipped his tea, enjoying every note.

However, Malcolm couldn't care less for these variety shows.

Over the years, he'd traveled the world searching for Carolyn.

He had looked for her in one city after another, but still, he found nothing.

Every once in a while, a glimpse of familiar eyes would make him miss her more. Yet he had no news of her even until now.

That night, a heavy rain washed everything clean, including the place where Carolyn had an accident.

The only thing left behind was the strawberry-flavored lollipop she'd wanted to give him.

Carolyn was always there for him during his gloomy moments. No matter how he drove her away, she refused to leave his side until he cheered up.

"Malcolm, this is a strawberry-flavored lollipop. It's very sweet. After you eat it, you won't feel sad anymore. You'll be over the moon." Her soft and pleasant voice often echoed in his ears.

Her clear, bright eyes were so lively that they easily seized everyone's attention.

Although Malcolm hated sweets, he had fallen for strawberry lollipops because of her.

He kept some at home and in the car. And tasting it truly brought a sense of happiness.

Malcolm lounged in his chair, the brilliant lights making his handsome features even more striking as he downed another glass of wine.

Whenever he was alone, he'd pray to God not to be so cruel, to let him find Carolyn and his mother soon.
