Chapter 1

Ding, Ding!

A message was sent to her phone.

Rose Linder opened her eyes wide. She got up from the bed carefully, and moved to where her phone was. After reading the message, she saw that Sophia Linder, her sister, had sent it.

{Sister, we’re running out of time to save Sky. Sky is going to pass away, like the doctor said. Don’t forget he saved your life once, and he’s your fiancé. Right now, the only person who can save him is you. Sister, brother Sky may be saved by the umbilical cord blood of a child whose blood type is compatible with his. We have to look for a child for this, but which? }

After reading the message, Rose walked to the mirror after setting her phone down on the bed. She glanced and saw how thin she was. She couldn't sleep because of all of this.

After much thought, Rose decided to sleep with Bright Lee, so if she got pregnant, the baby could save Sky.

She intended to act as a surrogate and bear a child in order to preserve Sky's life.

After taking a bath and eating lunch, she made her way directly to the Four Seasons Hotel.

She inhaled deeply for the third time as she approached the entrance of the presidential suite. Bright Lee, who shared Sky Tanner's unusual blood type, was the person in the room.

He was a guy of status and descended from a well-respected family with a lengthy history.

He was the head of HY Group, the company that maintained financial stability for City J.

This man was said to be harsh and frigid. Those who stood against him did not fare well in the end. Rumors even circulated that he drove his brothers away in order to hold onto power and that he went through hell to gain it. He was a man who was difficult to provoke.

And how could someone like that harm oneself in order to help others? She never would have done such a foolish thing if she hadn't been desperate.

She was unable to worry about the repercussions that might follow. Right now, Sky's life was more essential than anything else.

Using the room key, Rose unlocked the door and entered silently, holding her breath to hear any noises.

She moved cautiously over and carefully opened the master bedroom door after hearing a disturbance coming from that direction. The room was dimly lit and dark when the nightstand lamp was flung on the floor.

"Who's there!" The man by the bed's edge braced his hand against the nightstand. His voice was raspy and seductive, and his form was slightly slumped over.

It appeared that his body was already reacting to the medicine.

With poise, Rose approached the man and stood in front of him, looking him in the eye.

Through the faint light reflected by the fallen bulb, Rose could see the flawless face of Bright. His eyes, which were as deep and dark as the sea, drew people in unintentionally, and his high eyebrows and straight nose gave him a lovely appearance as if he had been blessed by God.

He looked even more gorgeous despite having fine sweat covering his lovely face and his eyebrows furrowed.

"Who's there!" Bright Lee's eyes did not soften. She was so ashamed of herself that she dared not look him in the eyes because of the razor-sharp glare in them.

He sat, staring up at Rose, but the oppression was still very much a part of him.

Rose smiled perfectly. Her thin fingers undid the beige windbreaker while her crimson lips slightly raised. "Someone who can help you."

Her words ended, and the jacket slipped off to reveal a thin black lace suspender skirt underneath. Rose had a beautiful body, was seductive and alluring, and exuded charm.

Bright was already stumbling from the effects of the drug, and the way she was making him even more hungry for sex.

"Get out!" He averted his gaze and let out a moan through his throat.

Rose disregarded his command to go. She bowed and leaned in, caressing his sensual and prominent larynx with her thin fingers while she murmured softly. "Don't worry, I am clean."

Bright's face went icy as he grasped her finger. "I don't need it."

However, the drug intensified and began to ravage his body viciously. It was difficult for him to ignore the odd sensation inside.

"You really don't need it?" Rose noticed that Bright's eyes were changing; the more intense the longing, the darker the color. "You're going to feel awful. I just need money to treat my cousin, so I won't bother you. "One million is sufficient."

She was aware that a man like Bright, in his position and standing, dreaded being bothered. She only wanted to display weakness to allow him to lower his defenses.

With a small purse of her lips, Rose blew air into Bright's ear sockets, giving him the impression that something electric had shocked his cerebral cortex and smashed whatever he was holding onto. At last, Bright was unable to resist.

No longer a coward, he turned over and pressed Rose against the plush huge bed. The tiny woman who was playing with fire was subdued by him.

With razor-sharp eyes, Bright looked at the delectable person underneath him like a wolf that had just sprung to life.

Her pure skin remained white and reflecting in the low light, gleaming beneath his palm like fine silk and jade. He was addicted to her figure, unable to let go.

Rose had the impression that he was going to disassemble and devour her. She even started to feel afraid at that point, but it was too late.

Bright Lee ripped the black lace garment apart, exposing her skin to the cool air.

Their forms entwined, lingering, beautiful with one another.

Shutting her eyes, she came to terms with it in silence.

A tear slipped the corner of her eye as the ache left her body.

Bright surprised everyone too—she was genuinely tidy.

Rose had a restless night's sleep. There was enough energy in Bright to kill her.

She didn't intend to hurt herself when she gave him the extra dose since she was concerned that Bright wouldn't respond to the usual amount.

He remained motionless for a while before rising as though he was done.

"Take the pill." With an uncaring voice, Bright threw a pill on the bedside table. "Don't leave trouble behind."

Although the hotel had contraceptives available for emergency usage, Bright chose not to use one last night due to personal circumstances.

With composure, Rose took the tablet and drank some cool water.

"Now take your money and leave, don't let me see you again." His voice grew icier, like a frozen voice. "Otherwise, don't blame me."

After chatting, Bright went to use the restroom.

Rose fought the pain throughout her body and forced herself to get out of bed when she heard the sound of water flowing from the restroom. She hurriedly changed, took the check from the nightstand, and tucked it into the windbreaker's pocket before turning to head out.

Rose spat out the contraceptive pill from under her tongue after departing from the Four Seasons Hotel.

Feeling confused, she lifted her hand to wipe the corners of her lips before sitting in the vehicle. Her eyes reddened, she could no longer bring herself to be normal.

She had been delivered to a stranger the first time she should have been kept for her boyfriend. She's never going to be tidy.

All she could do now was pray that she would get pregnant this time and save Sky's life.

Chapter 2

Rose seems to have received luck from God after praying.

Her period didn't arrive for over a month. She found out she was pregnant after carrying out test.

Her eyes flushed with delight as she examined the tiny black area on the ultrasound report she was holding.

Following her pregnancy, Rose exercised extreme caution. She kept to herself and suffered from loneliness all the way to labor.

Ten months of pregnancy followed by a day's delivery.

Rose gave birth to a baby that weighed more than 22 pounds despite her best efforts.

Rose thought she saw hope as she heard the infant cry out loud. The baby's blood type was found to be the same as Sky's following a medical examination. She instantly sobbed happy and joyful tears, forgetting all about the agonizing 12 hours of labor after learning that the baby's cord blood might be utilized.

"Sky can finally be saved..."

After then, Rose's physical and emotional exhaustion finally got to be too much for her, and she dozed off.

She was already asleep in the ward when she woke up, and a smiling nurse inquired, "Miss Linder, are you awake? Can I be of any assistance to you?

"Where's my baby?" Looking around, Rose did not see her child. Worried, she attempted to sit up.

"Never fear. The infant is swimming and having a bath." With attentive assistance, the nurse placed a pillow behind her.

"Thank you." Rose was relieved.

There is no stronger link in the world than that between people who are related by blood, even though the birth of this child was a last resort. She will love him because she gave birth to him.

At this point, the ward door was forced open, and a happy voice emerged. "Sister, I'm here."

"Sophie?" When Rose recognized Sophie Linder, she grinned.

After giving the nurse the fruits and flowers she had brought, Sophie Linder went to the bedside to join Rose. "I knew you missed me, I came."

"How sweet." Rose gave her sister a tender glance.

Take a look at what I got for you. This soup is chicken with black bones. I've heard elderly people claim that women who recently gave birth benefit from it. The chicken soup was put into a bowl by Sophie. "Sister, please take more. For brother Sky, you put in a lot of labor."

How is Sky doing, Sophie? I'd like to see him. Rose sipped at the chicken soup a few times.

She didn't see Sky for about a year and didn't go back home in an effort to give birth covertly and without anyone else knowing.

"Sister, the surgeon informed me that he would be operating on him right away. There is no doubt that Brother Sky will recover.

I'll be the first to inform him, after his surgery goes well, that you're the reason he could recover. Along with asking him to wed you as quickly as possible, I also want to become lucky and be a bridesmaid." Sophie looked charming and had a big smile on her face as she took Rose's hand.

union? Was there still hope for her and Sky after she gave birth to this child?

Rose disguised the sadness in her eyes as she drank the chicken soup.

"Sister, you need to get enough rest because you're still weak. I will personally take you to see Brother Sky after you've healed.

I'll be watching him for you throughout this period, so don't worry and just relax." Sophie spoke joyfully, oblivious to Rose's transformation.

Rose reached out and gave Sophie a gentle pat on the back of her hand. "Sophie, you have worked hard to take care of Sky."

"I'm glad to hear that. Since we are sisters, my happiness depends on your happiness. After all, you are my only sister."

Rose was able to leave the private nursing center after forty days of suffering and waiting around.

But a horde of media reporters rushed to surround Rose as she first emerged from the facility's side door with her infant.

The reporters' microphones were held in front of her like spears, and the spotlight was flashing nonstop.

"Miss Linder, you gave birth covertly after going missing during the year that Mr. Tanner was very unwell. Is this a significant present for Mr. Tanner, who was recently let go?" There was a lot of irony in the reporter's remarks.

"Miss Linder is believed to be high-minded, but her personal life is actually quite chaotic. The best evidence is this child.

You have an appointment with Mr. Tanner of the Tanner Group, Miss Linder. Of course you cheated on Mr. Tanner. Is he going to pardon you?"

"Miss Linder, do you think there's still hope for you to bring this child into the Tanner family?"

"Miss Linder, who is the biological father of this child?"

"Miss Linder exudes such confidence and freedom.

She probably has no idea who this child's biological father is either, hehe."

Rose had to cradle the infant in her arms due to a barrage of pointed questions. She had a pallid face.

"This is not about you; it's just business of mine. You don't need to hear from me."

Only Sophie was aware of her pregnancy and delivery. How on earth were these reporters going to show up right now and spill the beans?

Rose's lips were tight as she regarded her doubtful gaze. She felt colder the more she considered it.

"How many men Miss Elder Linder wanted to play with and how many children she wanted to have has nothing to do with us, but it has to matter for your fiancée Mr. Tanner."

The throng moved to the opposite side at the same moment. Sky Tanner was there, tall and not nearly as sick-looking as she had been. He still looked a little pale, but he had a lot of energy.

Strangely icy eyes that had earlier been full of compassion towards Rose. Those eyes betrayed repressed wrath.

"Mr. Tanner, are you here to take Miss Linder home?"

Is your engagement presently in effect? Are you going to accept the illegitimate kid of Miss Linder?

Sky and Rose exchanged enigmatic and complex glances with one another across the throng.

Rose didn't expect it to be in this circumstance, but she simply wanted to have a quick glance at him before she left to make sure he was okay.

"Sky, can you listen to me?" Rose questioned a little, wanting to make a point for herself and to keep him from seeming foolish in front of everyone.

"The reality is apparent already. Is there anything further that needs to be clarified? Believing is seeing. It wouldn't seem like a lie to him. "Does the baby come from nowhere?"

Chapter 3

Rose refrained from crying even though she knew this child existed. "Sky, I have my reason."

"Enough, I'm not interested, now listen to me." Sky looked away, coldly, taking away the warmth and compassion he had shown her, leaving only coldness and brutality. "Rose Linder and I, Sky Tanner, call off our engagement. From now on, we won't be doing business with each other."

Rose's heart broke in a split second. She fixed her gaze on Sky, who was in close proximity to Rose yet gave the impression that they were already miles apart.

"I want to use this chance to express my gratitude to one person. She was the one who was with me when I was unwell. She looked after me, supported me, and gave me her whole attention."

There was no mistaking the tenderness that stained Sky's attractive face as he spoke these words.

When he cast an indifferent glance at Rose, he was a completely different guy.

Sky closed his conversation, opened the door of the automobile next to him, and held out his hand politely. A delicate hand, resembling a jade stone, rested on his palm before being carefully removed from the vehicle.

Sophie Linder was radiant and stunning, with skin the color of jade and eyes as smart as if they could speak. She was wearing a light pink princess dress. Her smile was faint but radiant, like a springtime blossom.

She was standing next to the tall, attractive Sky. She was small and beautiful, the two of them a wonderful match.

"Sophie, I appreciate your loyalty to me.

I'm grateful that you gave me a fresh start. Sky went down on one knee in front of all of them. "Sophie, marry me and be with me forever, okay?"

Sky grasped the ring made of diamonds. The diamond reflected vibrant light beams under the sun. People were envious of the 6. 6 grams of pure diamond.

"Say yes, say yes..."

"Marry him, marry him..."

Sophie was moved, tears of crystal welling up in her eyes. Her eyes were lovingly fixed on Sky, but she did not nod.

"Sophie, what's wrong? Do you not want to?" Sky could see the conflict and indecision in her eyes.

"Brother Sky, I... Naturally, I would like to. But I can't do it since my sister loves you so much." With concern, Sophie scowled and shook her head.

"Would you kindly give her another chance even if she made a mistake? You will be quite happy if you forgive her."

"Sophie, you are innocent and kind."

Sky got to her feet. Gently and worried, he grasped her fragrant shoulders with both hands. It's not that I didn't try my best to help her. Your sister abandoned me and was cruel to me! There was even an illegitimate child, and she vanished just when I needed her most! And you are the one who has supported and cared for me throughout. I don't think I could have recovered from my condition if it weren't for you!"

"Brother Sky, I voluntarily completed every task. But my sister's life wasn't simple." Sophie continued to be a helpful and caring advocate for Rose.

Rose turned to face the naive and amiable Sophie. She wanted to sneer inwardly because she felt insulted.

"Sophie, don't be upset; your sister was the one who let me down initially! Sky Tanner: I will never put up with such a nasty woman again!" Sophie Linder was comforted by Sky Tanner. "Sophie, all I want is to be with you right now. Would you say that you like me?

Biting her lip, Sophie let the tears roll down her cheeks. She looked sweet and kind.

"Tell me, do you like me?"

"Well, I like you, really, really like you. However.

She looked up at Rose, who was standing a few meters away. "I like me, and I like Sky, too, sister, brother. Please allow us to spend time together."

"Sophie Linder, Sky Tanner, I wish you happiness and I wish you die soon."

"Sister, Sky made a full recovery. Bring all you've got at me; I don't fear anything. I kindly request that you refrain from saying it to my brother Sky.

"Sophie, don't beg her, she is not worthy!"

Give a slap.

Rose received a loud, forceful slap that left red finger prints on her cheeks.

"You cursed your sister so severely, and you did such a horrible thing! Why did the Linder family produce such a disgusting person? The Linder family has completely lost face because of you!" The sound prompted Chandler Linder to rush over as well, and when he heard those awful words, he couldn't contain his rage.

Rose, you didn't value Sky, so don't hold it against Sophie for winning Sky over. You can say those kinds of things to your sister, even though she is? Are you attempting to annoy us?" Mom Joy Young placed the blame on her irritated daughter.

"Dad, mom, why are you here too..." With a flush, Sophie spoke in a flirtatious tone.

"If we are not here, who's going to help you?" Chandler wanted to strangle Rose because of how fiercely he observed her. "Never fear. Her father will not believe her, no matter what she says.

Your parents are in favor of you and Sky being together. Regarding this scoundrel, she will no again interact with our Linder family."

"Sister, dad, she really needs us right now.

She simply went crazy and messed up. We ought to assist her. Sophie talked her parents into it "kindly".

"Aid her? She turned her back on herself and her principles. Nobody is able to assist her."

With a snort, Chandler gave Sophie a shoulder pat and said something endearing. Thankfully, Sophie didn't let her parents down. As your parents, we're at comfortable knowing that you and Sky will be together in the future."

"Yes, our Tanner family cannot tolerate a woman with such a blatant attitude! She is not deserving of serving Sky at all!" Simultaneously, Sophie was selected by Sam Tanner, the father of the Tanner family. "You are the daughter-in-law of the Tanner family, Sophie. Sky wouldn't be in front of us looking so well right now if you hadn't worked so hard for him."

However, May Rolling, the Tanner family's mother, simply scowled, stared in shock at Rose's stunningly cold face and the kid she held, and then turned her head away.

Rose felt as though her body and mind had been ripped apart and that she had sunk into a vortex of anguish.

"Sophie, I really need you." Sky drew Sophie in close, kissing her to complete his statement.

Sophie's stunning eyes widened in surprise, but as Sky kissed her, she slowly relaxed and lingered with him.

Rose did her best to contain the tears that started to well up in her eyes and the soreness in them.

Not in front of the enemy, she would not cry!

She bit her lip, and the taste of being betrayed by one's closest friend flooded her mouth with a delicious, bloody fragrance.

It was the current state of affairs that Sophie had long since planned. She couldn't defend herself, and no one would believe her, even if she had a good cause.

Due to her premarital childbearing, her biological parents decided she was no longer deserving of the Tanner family. After abandoning her, they made the decision to support their younger daughter, who is honorable and pure, in keeping her engagement and her connection with the Tanner family.

The truth was never what they wanted. All they wanted was a pawn.

Her eyes remained strong and showed no signs of weakness, despite her current state of loss.

Rose felt embarrassed as she watched them enjoy one other's company and sneered in her heart. After being humiliated today, she vowed to get them back one day.

Chapter 4

Bright Lee undressed at Simcoe Manor in City J and went outside. Bill Newman, his assistant, waited politely with his head lowered for his orders.

He took a seat at the dinner table and gracefully, aesthetically beautiful, enjoyed his meal.

However, his attractive face was expressionless, and the surrounding atmosphere was eerily silent. "Bill Newman, you haven't even been able to locate a woman in a few months.

Do you possess the necessary skills? Bright ran her delicate fingertips down the rim of the milk mug.

In this instant, Bright's captivating voice felt to Bill Newman like a mystical enchantment, leaving him feeling cold.

"President, the woman worked at the hotel for a while using a false identity. She's been alone herself all of her life. I've been informed that she's not a native of the country, and that the CCTV footage from that evening was altered. Bill Newman remained mute while he awaited Bright's sentencing, afraid to say anything more.

Bright's grim face was devoid of any sign of happiness or rage, and he remained silent. He drank the milk only very slowly.

That day, he felt rejuvenated after taking a shower, and the woman with whom he had a one-night fling vanished, taking the check with it.

However, the striking dark red plum bloom against the white linens served as a constant reminder that this was real.

Her beauty and youth drove him insane and prevented him from controlling his emotions. He was so tempted to gorge himself on her body. He was unable to resist missing that night's beauty.

All he could recall of her was her gaudy face because the lights were dim.

Bright gave a headshake. What ailed him?

He fell head over heels in love with a complete stranger—a woman who dared to include him in her plot!

With a rather self-deprecating smirk, he snorted.

Simply put, there should be a cost for this woman who dared to plan.

Bright narrowed his eyes a little, and his enmity grew stronger and more intense.

The pressure was getting to Bill, and he thought he would pass out.

"Pres... President, if I don't find this woman... I will go to Africa." Bill balled his fists, determined to get what he wanted.

It would be a disgrace for him to allow a woman to tarnish his track record of ability.

Upon hearing him, Bright slowly raised his head, focusing his icy gaze on Bill.

Like a chilly sword that had sliced Bill to ribbons, the expression was furious and frigid.

Lightly putting down the milk mug, Bright spoke the words "there's no need."

Startled, Bill glanced up at his sage employer. Was it just a hallucination? Or does the president believe he is ineffective?

"Please give me another chance, President. I'll take any kind of penalty if I can't finish the assignment." Bill was uncompromising.

Bright sent him a chilly glance. "I declined. Step outside to prepare. We have five minutes until we head out to the company."

At that point, Bill breathed a sigh of relief at last.

Actually, there was another reason he was hoping to track down the woman from that evening. Now he required a submissive spouse.

Money could fix issues, and she wanted money to solve problems. Feelings may cause problems in a relationship, thus he didn't need them. Once they separated, a contractual marriage built on shared benefits would not become a burden. Thus, when he thought of that woman at first...

Five years had gone by in a flash.

Rose got up at seven in the morning at the Four Seasons Hotel in City J and took one last look at the papers and paperwork she would need for the day.

Her phone rang at that time, and Rose answered the video call. A beautiful, adorable white infant materialized on the screen. The small girl looked like a doll, with thick, curled eyelashes and pink jelly lips.

"Mommy, good morning." The young girl gave Rose a warm wave and a charming smile.

"Good morning, too, baby. In five minutes, Mom is going to be departing. Be sure you get enough food and rest. I'll come get you when I get back.

Do not forget to pay attention to Aunt Jane's words."

Rose talked softly and affectionately.

She gave her daughter to her friend Jane Smith, who also happened to be her daughter's kindergarten teacher, due to a business trip. Jane Smith found it rather convenient to provide her daughter with transportation.

"Mom won't have to worry about money since Doris will behave herself well.

Just remember that mom will worry if you work too hard." With her hands, five-year-old Doris formed a small heart. "I miss you every day, mom."

"Mom misses you too." Rose's eyes were crimson and she felt warmed.

Following her five-year expulsion from the Linder family, she returned with her daughter to City Y, where she had previously attended school. Mother and daughter embarked on a new life together, dependent on one another.

But Rose rarely sobbed because Doris was too practical and understood how difficult it was for her to work and raise a child; instead, she offered Rose consolation and support. Rose felt guilty about how considerate she was.

Doris was Rose's little angel, and she never regretted having given birth to her because at least she still had a family and a place to live.

Rose and her assistant left the hotel at 8:20 and headed to HY Group.

She was employed at City Y's biggest design firm, YM Group. Within the corporation, there was intense competition.

Over her four years at YM Group, Rose never ventured to take a break. She consistently put forth a lot more effort than most. She was named the Excellent Designer of the Year for three years in a row thanks to her abilities and creativity. Her pay increased along with her promotion.

The theater that HY Group invested in and built in City J was the largest project at the start of the year. YM Group would not logically pass up this fantastic chance to collaborate with HY Group.

William Quinn, the design director, chose Rose to be the primary designer for the project. It's understandable that people would feel jealous of her given the level of confidence and support bestowed upon her.

Rose could only bring an assistant with her this time because William Quinn was meant to accompany her to City J to discuss their cooperation but was involved in a vehicle accident and had to be committed to the hospital before they could leave. It was also time to demonstrate her ability, not to mention disappoint Director Quinn with her lack of concern.

Rose felt confused as she stood in front of the HY Group's imposing headquarters building.

After spending five years in hiding, she was finally going to come clean to him.

All she could hope for was that she wouldn't run into Bright because vice president David Hank was the one who was in charge of the theater project.

She then learned that Bright Lee would not be returning for a few days since he had already left on a business trip to the United States. There's nothing greater than this news.

On the third day, Rose and her helper were shown to the upper floor by the HY Group receptionist. She emerged from the elevator as soon as the door opened.

As she made her way to the meeting area, Bright unexpectedly approached her. Rose nearly contorted her foot at that same moment.

This was just unexpected and unexpected!

Being the tall and attractive Bright, he was always the center of attention.

Just one look at him drew people in, his eyes as deep and mysterious as a chasm, with a pair of straight eyebrows and eyes that seemed to be streaming with ink.

He stood six feet or more tall. His form was flawlessly accentuated by the elegant black suit and the timeless white shirt. His aristocratic bearing was evident when he walked, and his long, straight legs made him look good.

Rose moved aside, followed by her assistant and the receptionist from HY Group.

"Hello president Lee."

Bright didn't stop, just gave a subtle nod.

Rose didn't even dare to breathe since she was so terrified when he went by that she was glued to the wall. She was afraid that Bright might see her as she peered down.

Luckily, he walked away without noticing her.

She breathed a silent sigh of relief as Bright flicked a glance with the corner of his eyes, then followed the receptionist.

"Stop." She had only taken two steps when she heard a familiar voice behind her.

The voice was as seductive and raspy as it had been five years before.

However, Rose shook and her hands started to perspire.

Chapter 5

"You turn around." Bright's eyes landed on Rose's rigid back.

Rose scowled intensely. She stayed where she was and continued to struggle.

"Miss Linder, president Lee is calling for you." The person at reception reminded Rose.

Rose's gaze remained on the ground as she slowly turned to face Bright, screaming "it's over" in her heart. She was afraid to look him in the eye.

Her legs ached from guilt, which she felt intensely.

"Hold up your head." Bright fixed his gaze on Rose, but his voice was soft and authoritative enough that no one could ignore.

Then Rose looked up, but it was across Bright at another place.

She wouldn't be as scared as she would be if she avoided staring into his amazing eyes.

Rose had a lovely face; her lips were like cherry blossoms, and her eyes were charming and brilliant. Her smooth hair looked polished and competent as it was pulled back into a low ponytail.

A well-fitting black suit for her, pencil pants that highlighted her stunning legs, and white high heels... This was one stylish woman, from head to toe.

"Mr. Lee, what's the matter?" Rose made an effort to unwind and acted in a natural way.

"Who are you?" Bright's eyes twitched in narrowness.

He noticed something familiar emanating from her body as he walked by.

"My name is Rose Linder and I work as a senior designer for City Y's YM Group. I'm here today to discuss the theater design project with Mr. Hank of HY Group." With poise, Rose gave her name and explained why she was there.

"Rose..." Bright said with a hint of fun in her dark eyes as she took time to savor the name.

However, Rose noticed a slight warmth on her face due to how close he uttered her name.

Her heart twitched nervously.

With a deep breath, she hoped that Bright wouldn't remember her.

Ultimately, the lights were dim that night five years ago, and the medication had made it difficult for him to see her properly.

She also applied a lot of makeup, so presumably he wouldn't believe that the gaudy woman from five years ago and the polished woman she was now were the same person.

"Miss Linder, have we met before?" Bright gave Rose a sidelong glance.

Startled, Rose's eyes flared with a hint of panic.

"I have been residing in City Y, President Lee.

I have never been to City J before. Furthermore, how could a distinguished individual such as President Lee have encountered a common person like myself? You have to be thinking incorrectly." Rose concealed the past with a small grin.

"Really?" Bright arched a little brow. "It seemed that I remembered wrong."

Rose just wanted this episode to stop as quickly as possible, so she stood there feeling quite nervous. "If there isn't anything else president Lee needed, then we'll be heading to the meeting."

"Miss Linder, I look forward to the cooperation." Bright's attractive face was rendered even more striking and captivating by the mysterious smile that escaped his tiny lips.

Rose was a little taken aback at first, but she soon composed herself. "President Lee, please advise."

Rose relaxed as Bright turned around and strode away with his long legs, and she couldn't resist reaching out to tightly pinch her chest. She had a cold sweat all over her back.

She felt as though she had just finished a difficult battle because of the two-minute chat with Bright; she was mentally and physically worn out.

David's lighthearted voice could be heard as Bright recovered his gaze from behind Rose. "Bright, Miss Linder is your type?"

He'd never seen his friend Bright's eyes fix on a woman for longer than three seconds since school. Undoubtedly, there was something strange.

Bright's eyes only brushed across David's puzzled face. "You are overthinking it."

David Hank, "...

Bright strolled by David, and went all the way back to the president's office, sitting behind the huge rosewood desk.

He pushed open the bottom drawer on the right and brought out two crimson marriage certificates from it. The certificates had been at his office for more than two years. He only looked at them two years ago and never looked at them again.

Now they were still as brand new and bright as they were when he received three years ago.

Bright flipped opened one of the marriage certificates with his long fingers. The column for the certificate holder read Rose Linder, and the column for spouse read Bright Lee.

The woman in the photo had a simple ponytail, her face was clean and pure, and her simple white shirt looked very elegant, but it was hard to hide her outstanding qualities.

The man next to her was also in a white shirt, his handsome face was indifferent, and he looked detached from the woman.

Indeed, this wedding photo was a photoshopped product.

He didn't even show up to get the certificate; his friends did it for him.

He was in a car accident and injured his leg and was resting in the hospital, but it was imperative to obtain the certificate, so he had to have a friend help me through video.

"Rose Linder, so you are the Mrs. Lee who I have never met before."

Bright picked up the phone and dialed a number. "Harry, guess who I saw today."

The friend Harry Faulkner on the other end of the phone was taken back. "Who? The daughter of the Jin family who came back from studying abroad? She came to pester you again?"

"It's Mrs. Lee." Bright leaned against the back of the chair, and lightly pressed the edge of the table with one hand, but his eyes did not leave the marriage certificate. " Harry was stunned for a second and then suddenly realized. "Lee, I almost forgot about it if you didn't tell me. Did she come to find you? Impossible.
