Chapter 1: Released

In the dim prison cell, the iron bars, scarred by time, cast a gloomy shadow in the faint light.

I hadn't eaten for three days. Squatting in the corner, I stared at the food in front of me, unable to help but let my mouth water.

Glancing around carefully, I quickly grabbed the food and devoured it while they weren't looking.

Suddenly, a strong arm knocked over the bowl in my hands.

A female inmate with a face full of muscles viciously yelled at me, "Who said you could eat? Stealing too? Don’t you know who’s in charge here?”

She raised her hand and ordered, "Teach her a lesson!"

In an instant, other female inmates rushed toward me, punching and kicking.

I fought back without thinking, swinging my arms, trying to push them off. But one kicked me hard in the stomach, and another yanked my hair and slammed my head into the wall.

“Please stop! I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”

I was knocked to the ground again and again, my cries drowned by their mocking laughter.

“Look at her. Doesn’t she look like a dog now?”

“Exactly! Like a wild dog begging on the floor!”

Their insults hit harder. My resistance meant nothing; it was just a pathetic joke to them.

The reason I was treated this way was all for the sake of someone I loved.

Seven years ago, I took the blame for my husband's crime. I stood in court, pregnant, and signed a confession for a crime he committed.

I did it because they said a lighter sentence was possible during pregnancy. So, I gave up my freedom for Marius's successful career.

Before going to prison, Marius suddenly acquired my family's assets. He told me, "The company is in trouble and on the verge of bankruptcy. If I don’t take it over, everything your father built will collapse. I’ll save it for you.”

I was grateful for what Marius had done. If he hadn’t stepped in, my father’s years of hard work would have been destroyed.

But not long ago, a woman came into the prison and stopped by my cell. From her, I learned about Marius and my daughter.

She said, "You're living a miserable life here, unlike your husband. He and your daughter are doing just fine outside!”

"Not only are they doing well, but your daughter even has a new mother! She looks just like you, pretty, too…”

When I heard that, my first thought was that she was lying. I was still in prison; how could my daughter have another mother?

No matter what she said, I refused to believe it.

Because I believed in them, I believed that my husband and daughter would never betray me. Mari and Zaza were still waiting for me outside. As long as I hold on a little longer, I can go out and see them...

I was still being beaten when the prison guard appeared at the door, knocking his baton against the bars.

"What's going on here!"

They stopped what they were doing.

Turning to see the prison guard at the door, they exchanged a glance, a flash of fierceness in their eyes.

The female leader pointed at me, looking all innocent. “It’s her. She went crazy and started trouble with us!”

"Oh really?"

"Of course!" the others laughed maliciously.

I lay on the ground, my hair messy and covering my bloodied face, one eye burning and swollen shut.

The prison guard walked into the cell, and the women stepped aside. As he came closer, he reached a hand toward me.

Still gripped by fear, I thought he was going to hit me too. I screamed, “Ah! Don’t hit me, don’t hit me!”

The prison guard impatiently pushed away my hand, grabbed my hair angrily, and forced me to look up. "Since you're so emotionally unstable, I'll take you to calm down!"

He grabbed my hair and pulled me up from the ground, causing a sharp pain in my scalp.

I struggled, crying out, "Let go of me! It hurts, let go!"

The other female prisoners saw this scene and burst into loud laughter, some holding back malicious smiles.

The guard shoved me into the dark room.

There were no windows, just a single weak light above. The space felt small, the shadows heavy.

In the moment of being pushed in, the fear from my memories suddenly surged.

I froze for a heartbeat, then started struggling hard to break free. “Let go of me!”

"Shut up!"

He threw me down onto the hard board. Before I could move, he pinned my head with one hand.

He glared into my face."Try moving again!" As he said this, he silently increased the pressure on his hands.

I heard the sound of metal and leather colliding, as well as the sound of a quick draw.

My head was caught between the bed board and his hands, the pain making it hard to breathe. "I won't resist anymore, please let me go!"

"Please, don't hit me!" I pushed him with my hands, kicked him with my feet, but nothing worked.

He was angered by my actions, raised his hand, and slapped me hard a few times. "Shut up! You're so annoying!"

The sharp sound of the slaps echoed in the room. My left ear rang, one side going strangely quiet.

The prison guard looked at the tears on my face with disgust. He raised his hand and brought the belt down with a loud crack.

"Ah! Ah!" My screams filled the dim air.

Pain burned through me, my fingers digging deep into the board.

He grabbed my chin, forcing my head up. "Scream, keep screaming! Cooperate with me here, and you'll have an easier time."

"Enough..." My neck was being squeezed, my voice hoarse, like it had been scraped raw. "Please... spare me, please..."

He smirked. "Your skin looks so white. Anyway, it's your last day, why not let me 'appreciate' it."

My eyes widened. “What are you going to do?!”

"Do what I want."

Just then, the door slammed open.

The female guard outside took one look at the scene and barked, “What are you doing?”

The guard froze, turning to her. “Why are you here?”

"If I didn't come, who knows what stupid thing you would have done!" The female guard pulled the guard away. "Hurry up and get dressed, or I'll report this!"

The male guard pulled back the belt with reluctance and left.

"2719, you..."

I stared at a fixed spot, empty, unresponsive.

"2719?"

When I still didn’t move, she shoved my shoulder and shouted, “2719!”

My hazy brain gradually cleared, and my body began to shake uncontrollably.

She said coldly, "2719, you can be released today."

The news of my release that I had been looking forward to was now like a knife of humiliation.

My low, sobbing voice was almost inaudible, yet painfully clear.

The female guard tossed a set of clothes onto the floor in front of me. “Hurry up and put them on.”

As the door shut, I slowly sat up, trembling as I hugged my knees, finally crying out loud.

Chapter 2: Shattered Fantasy

As I walked down the prison corridor, the female inmates banged on the walls, mocking me.

These chaotic noises had followed me since the day I entered, every single day.

My meals were always snatched away or spilled on purpose. The female boss of the cell would make me wash her feet. I resisted, but resisting meant getting beaten, so I had no choice but to comply.

I could still remember the sting when she kicked the basin, splashing scalding water into my face.

Not long after, someone accused me of stealing. No matter how I explained, the guards didn’t believe me. They beat me with their batons until they were tired.

Afterwards, the female inmates would mockingly laugh at me, covered in bruises.

The piercing laughter now echoed again, another cut to my dignity.

I kept my head low, wishing the path under my feet would shorten so I could leave sooner.

Finally, I saw the exit of the prison.

Standing outside the prison, the sunlight was so bright that I couldn't open my eyes. I raised my hand to shield the sunlight. Slowly adjusting, I took step after step forward.

Standing on the roadside, clutching the only bills in my pocket, I reached out and stopped a bus.

My clothes were dirty and torn, the smell of unwashed days clinging to me.

The passengers on the bus cast disdainful glances at me, some covered their noses, some whispered, "This person is so dirty and still getting on. Disgusting!”

"Who said it wasn't? You hurry up and get off, you're delaying our business!"

"Get off! Dirty and smelly! Disgusting!”

I turned to step down, but a middle-aged woman caught my hand, her face twisted in disgust. "Do you have money to buy a ticket?"

"Yes, I do."

"If you do, then hurry up and pay! We’re all waiting for the bus to leave, don’t waste time!”

I looked at the woman who had sat back down. My eyes burned, my hands trembled.

I bowed to her in gratitude, choking out, "Thank you, thank you..."

After paying the fare, I found a corner to sit down. Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked out at the ever-changing scenery outside the window.

I wandered for a long time, spending all the money I had, until I finally reached the familiar villa area.

By then, I stank to high heaven, and my hair was extremely messy. I looked like a beggar. I couldn’t face them like this.

I walked to the faucet, took a few sips of water, and washed the dirt from my hands and face.

After a quick tidy up, I took a step forward, but something not far away made me freeze in place.

There, I saw a familiar face, my husband, with our daughter Zaza by his side. But who was the woman walking intimately with them?

The three of them strolled together, talking and laughing, like a happy family.

The words of my cellmate echoed in my ears. "Your husband and daughter are living a great life now, with a beautiful woman by their side. They are a happy family."

What I had once dismissed as a lie now shattered every illusion I’d held.

I stood there in shock, tears welling up in my eyes, murmuring, "Mari, how could you betray me? I gave everything for you. How could you… How could you…”

I had believed my sacrifices would earn me their loyalty and patience. I thought if I endured, we’d be reunited and live as we once had.

But the truth in front of me was clear: Marius had betrayed me.

A gust of cold wind brought me back from my painful thoughts and gave me a clear idea of what I needed to do.

I watched as the three of them walked further away, and I rushed forward in a panic.

I grabbed Marius by the sleeve, demanding loudly, "Why would you do this to me?!"

Marius flinched. When he saw my face, surprise flickered in his eyes before he shoved my hand away. "Do I know you, you crazy woman? Let go of me!"

I stared at him, confused. “You… don’t know me?”

Marius protectively shielded Zara and the woman behind him, looking at me with disgust, "Why would I know you, you crazy woman!"

I looked at him in disbelief, unable to believe the words coming out of his mouth.

He stared at me coldly, as if I were a total stranger.

Security guards from the villa area were already hurrying toward us.

They looked at me, covering their noses, their faces full of disgust. "Where did this crazy woman come from, making trouble here!" one of the security guards said, reaching out to shove me.

At that moment, I almost felt grateful for all the pain I had endured in prison. Because of the experiences I had accumulated from being beaten in prison, I was able to skillfully dodge the security guards' shoves.

I stepped aside and shouted, "You don't recognize me? Now you're saying you don't know me. When you were in trouble, why didn't you say you didn’t know me then? Bastard!”

The security guards saw the situation, and their actions quickened; their strength increased. Obviously, they were trying to forcibly take me away.

I kept dodging until one of them tripped and fell, giving me the chance to rush back toward them.

I fixed my eyes on the unfamiliar woman, then stood up straight, shouting loudly, "Marius! Open your damn eyes and look at me, see who I am!"

Marius looked at me deeply, silent for a moment, then turned to the woman behind him and said, "Rosalind, take Zaza aside. I don't want Zaza to be affected by this crazy woman."

Rosalind glanced at me, hesitated, then said, “Okay.”

She took Zaza’s hand. “Zaza, shall we go over there?”

Zara gave me a quick glance, then nodded.

Seeing this, I was about to rush to stop her. "Wait! Zaza! Leave Zaza here, you stand..."

"Estelle!" Marius grabbed me, whispering.

I shook, slowly turned to look at him, and chuckled softly, "Do you recognize me now?"

"Stop it, Estelle!"

I shoved his hands away, my voice shaking. "What do you mean I'm causing trouble? I'm your lover, I risked my reputation to help you, I even sent myself to that place, and now I'm the one causing trouble, right?!"

Marius’s cold gaze swept over me, a mocking smile curling on his lips. "The way you are now, it's better not to say you're my lover."

His contempt dropped my heart straight into ice.

Was my existence now just a joke to him?

My eyes turned red, tears of grievance swirling in my eyes, angrily demanding, "Then what about all the things I did for you before?"

What did those seven years of devotion to him amount to?

My fists tightened, my body trembling slightly with emotion.

Chapter 3: Under The Sun

Marius opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something.

I took a deep breath and said as calmly as I could, "I'll give you one last chance to explain everything clearly, and I can believe you."

But he didn’t say a word. He didn’t even try to explain about that woman.

The woman who had just walked away returned alone, standing beside him. She leaned in and whispered, "Don't worry, I just handed Zaza over to the security guard over there."

Marius nodded with a faint smile. “Good.”

Looking at the smile on his face, I understood his thoughts and didn't want to know what the relationship between him and Rosalind was.

My tone turned cold. “Give me what belongs to me.”

He looked startled for a moment, then sneered. "Dream on! What property do you have?!"

I fought to keep my anger down. "Even if you claim not to know me, my father’s company is still in your hands. Don’t act clueless.”

"We've been together for years, what's yours is mine. Besides, I've done so much for you, shouldn't you give me what's mine?!"

If the woman standing next to him wasn’t me, then what should have been mine, I would take back.

Marius, in his suit and tie, crossed his arms, smirked, and contemptuously said, "Daydreaming."

"Your father's company would have been gone long ago without my help! As for what you said..."

Rosalind, at his side, raised her hand and linked arms with him, cutting him off.

Her eyes, full of disdain, told me without a word that she knew exactly who I was.

With a mocking smile, she said, "Take a good look at yourself, a former prisoner, you're not even worthy of Mari's shine."

“Stop dreaming about what isn’t yours. Otherwise, you’re no different from the beggars on the street.”

I scanned her from head to toe. She was wearing a Chanel suit, had exquisite makeup on her face, exuding a subtle fragrance of perfume, definitely a brand name.

If things hadn’t gone wrong, everything she had now should have been mine.

Instead, I had nothing and had to endure her humiliation under Marius’s protection.

He was supposed to be my husband, yet he didn’t say a single word to defend me.

My body trembled, a mix of anger and disappointment, but I still asked, "Marius, do you feel the same? Were all the things you said just lies?"

His eyes were cold, as if I were a complete stranger.

The next moment, he waved his hand impatiently at the distant security guards, signaling them to come.

Afraid that I might run away, they grabbed me and their strong arms tightly held onto my arms.

When they didn’t move fast enough, Marius snapped, “What are you standing there for? Throw this person out! Can anyone just walk into this villa area?!”

The guards exchanged a quick glance before dragging me away without mercy.

I was thrown hard onto the cold ground outside.

The sun had set. The quiet was broken only by the sharp wind cutting against my cheeks.

I sat there trembling, tears streaming down my face, Marius’s cold eyes burned into my mind.

The happy life I had hoped for turned out to be a mirage, now shattered into pieces.

"Why, why, why did it have to turn out like this?!" I screamed inside.

I had given everything for Marius, even sacrificed my freedom. I thought it would lead to happiness, but all I got was betrayal and abandonment.

I lowered my gaze toward the distant streetlights, memories of the prison rushing back, those who had bullied me, those I had endured.

This darkness did not belong to me. I couldn’t stay in it forever. I had to return to the sunlight that was mine.

I told myself I could not be defeated. I would live well, and I would make those who hurt me pay.

I stood up, brushed off the dust, and straightened my back.

Staring into the distance, I clenched my fists until my nails dug into my palms, but I felt no pain.

“I won’t be weak anymore. I’ll take back everything that belongs to me.”

I began to think calmly about what to do next. With nothing in my hands, facing the current Marius would take careful planning.

At that moment, I thought of Lyra, my best friend.

Since my imprisonment, she had been taking care of my old house.

I borrowed a phone from someone on the street and called Lyra.

When she answered, I tentatively said, "Lyra."

Lyra heard my voice, stared at her phone in disbelief, then quickly pressed it to her ear.

“Is… is that you, Essie?”

"Yeah, it's me."

For a moment, she was silent, then her voice broke with excitement. "Essie, you're finally coming back! I've missed you so much!"

I glanced at the owner of the phone waiting beside me, smiled apologetically, and covered the phone. "Lyra, calm down for a moment and listen to me first."

Sniffling, she said, “Okay, tell me.”

"I borrowed a stranger's phone to call you, so I’ll keep it short." Then I asked her, "You still have the keys to the old mansion my parents left me, right?"

"Yes, I do! I've been taking good care of it for you. Do you need it now?”

"No, I don't." After hesitating for a few seconds, I continued, "Tomorrow, help me put that old mansion up for sale."

Lyra was shocked by my decision. "Sell it?! Why would you sell it? Where will you live after selling it?"

"I'll rent a place. I can get used to living anywhere," I said casually.

No place could be worse than prison.

Whether it was the location of the house or just my luck, Lyra listed the house for sale, and it was sold in less than a day, with the buyer paying in full upfront.

Maybe I had been miserable for too long, perhaps even heaven couldn’t bear to watch.

With the money from the sale, I worked with my agent to find a rental and soon signed the lease.

Coincidentally, the new place was in a neighborhood I knew well.

My manager and I got two sets of keys, then each took a taxi to the residential area.

There was a jade green Bugatti Veyron parked downstairs, its lights on.

As I passed by, I glanced at it. The dim surroundings made it hard to see, but I could make out a figure in the driver’s seat.

Chapter 4: Drawen?!

I looked up, momentarily dazed.

The house, as I looked up, seemed to still be lit up like before, with warm yellow light shining through the windows as usual.

I didn't live here when I was a child. It wasn't until I went to college that my parents bought this house.

After I went to college, I rarely came back home. Just two years after graduation, I ended up in prison because of Marius.

Standing downstairs now felt like a lifetime ago. After adjusting my mood, I walked into the building and took the elevator to the sixteenth floor.

Using the spare key to open the door, I unlocked the door and stepped inside. The familiar furniture brought back a rush of memories.

My mother was sitting on the sofa watching TV, my father was drinking tea with her, and I was laughing foolishly with a bag of chips. Everything seemed to still be there.

I looked around this house that held so many memories for me, feeling a mix of emotions.

I skillfully went into the bedroom and packed all the items my parents left here into a suitcase.

Standing in the living room, looking at the family portrait on the wall, a sour feeling rose in my heart.

The family of three in the photo smiled so brightly, but I, outside the photo, couldn't smile at all. I took down the family portrait and carefully put it in my bag.

Before leaving, I checked every room to make sure nothing was left behind, placed the spare key on the shoe cabinet, closed the door, and crossed the hall.

I opened the door to my new apartment. Warm air mixed with a faint woody scent greeted me.

The dim light softened the simple furniture, and beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the night view of City G sparkled.

The place was clean and tidy, clearly cared for by the landlord before leaving.

I took off my shoes, my bare feet curling slightly against the cold wooden floor as I walked to the window.

Below, the streets were bright and lively, but my heart felt hollow.

The night in City G was as bustling as ever, but my heart felt empty, as if there was no echo.

The quiet space was interrupted by the sound of my stomach protesting, reminding me that I had been busy all afternoon and hadn't eaten. I had to go out to a nearby convenience store to buy some food.

Standing in the elevator, I thought about whether to buy some groceries on the way back, and before I knew it, I had already reached the first floor.

As the elevator door opened, I instinctively walked out.

As I stepped out, a man hurried in.

Lost in thought, I didn’t notice him and bumped right into him.

I clutched my head in pain. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry.”

I looked up at him. The man, a little shorter than me, had a faint look of surprise in his eyes.

Seeing him stare, I waved a hand in front of him. “Hey?”

He blinked, coming back to himself, and said, “Sorry.”

I carefully looked at this strange person and felt a bit familiar. "You look a bit like someone I know."

"Oh really? What's his name?"

"His name is Drawen."

The man smiled. “Maybe it is me.”

I was surprised and carefully examined the man in front of me. He stood tall, handsome, and indeed bore some resemblance to the Drawen from years ago, but looked much more mature.

It had been years since we parted. Wasn’t it normal to change?

Thinking that, I finally asked, “Drawen?!”

He smiled and nodded. “It’s been a few years. Almost didn’t recognize me?”

I scratched my head awkwardly. “I didn’t react at first.”

After exchanging a few words with Drawen, we parted ways. Just as I walked out of the building, I realized I had forgotten to ask him why he was here, whether he lived here, or if he had friends here.

From behind, Drawen watched me disappear from view before turning away.

Lowering his eyes with a faint smile, he thought, The person I've been waiting for is finally coming back.

He took out his phone and told his subordinate, "Look into Estelle’s current situation and report back to me as soon as possible.”

"Yes."

I went to the convenience store and bought some easy-to-eat instant food, planning to buy vegetables and fruits the next day.

Maybe from sheer exhaustion, I slept until noon. After a quick sandwich, I headed out for groceries and other essentials.

Once everything was unpacked, I sat on the sofa and sent Lyra a message.

Less than half an hour later, she was at my door.

The moment I opened it, Lyra threw her arms around me, holding me tight.

I smiled helplessly. “What’s wrong? We already met.”

She mumbled, “We have, but it still doesn’t feel real.”

I let her hold me until she loosened her arms. Then we sat on the sofa together, and she asked gently, “Essie, what are your plans now?”

Looking out the window, I answered firmly, “I plan to keep working as a designer.”

My parents had many connections in the past, and I wanted to try to use those connections to start over.

Lyra frowned. “Essie, you know that Creations has a lot of power now; they won't make it easy for you."

"I have my own company now. Why don’t you work for me? I can give you a good position.”

I knew she only wanted to protect me, but I couldn’t let her carry my burden.

But I also knew one thing: I couldn't drag her down.

I looked at Lyra gratefully and refused, "I know you mean well, but I don't want to burden you. I plan to use the money from selling the house, as well as my parents' connections, to start over. I want to reclaim everything that belongs to me on my own."

Seeing I wouldn’t change my mind, she sighed. “Alright. I support you. But if you run into trouble, you must tell me. I’ll help however I can.”

Downstairs, leaning against his car, Drawen looked up at the lit window, his expression heavy.

He couldn't help but think back to the years when they were young, full of expectations and dreams for the future. She always had a bright smile on her face back then, vibrant and fitting.

But now...

He looked away and opened the file his subordinate had sent that afternoon. Reading through it, his brows furrowed.

He hadn’t expected Estelle to have suffered so much. No wonder she had looked so worn and fragile when they met yesterday.

She must have a lot on her plate now.

After a moment’s thought, he called his subordinate again. “From now on, help Estelle in secret. Do whatever you can to clear the way for her.”

Chapter 5: Counterattack

The company was still in its early stages, but I didn't have any suitable clothes, so I went to the mall early to shop.

The mall was bustling with people, and I moved between various stores.

Just as I was picking out clothes, a familiar yet distant figure caught my eye.

It was Rosalind, the woman who had once stood beside Marius.

She was dressed in gorgeous clothes, carrying a designer bag, and chatting with another woman.

I didn't want to run into her, so I turned to leave, but she had already spotted me.

A sly smile curved her lips. She whispered something to her companion, then walked straight toward me.

She reached out to block my path and said with a smile, "Well, well, Ms. Estelle. Fresh out of jail, and you still have money to shop here?”

I stopped in my tracks and looked at her coldly. "I have nothing to say to you. Move.”

But she didn’t budge. Instead, she smirked. “Mari dumped you, so you must be broke. Are you sleeping with men for money now?”

At her words, the woman beside her chuckled. “So this is the crazy woman you were talking about? She’s nothing compared to you! Haha!”

I gave them a cold glance and stepped to the side, but Rosalind moved again, blocking me.

Thinking that I was afraid of her, Rosalind grew even more smug. "You've been to prison, and you still want to dress up? Does your status now even deserve the clothes here?"

I had intended to have a fun day shopping at the mall, but it seemed impossible now.

I could put up with a few more insults, but if I held back any longer, I might really become a "soft persimmon" for anyone to squeeze.

I stared straight at Rosalind and said coldly, "It's not up to you to judge my status. You're just a homewrecker who meddles in other people's relationships. What right do you have to stand in front of me?"

"I used to hear that women who become mistresses have no shame. I didn’t believe it. But now that I see you, I do."

The woman beside her smiled awkwardly, quickly scanning Rosalind up and down.

Rosalind's face changed, her voice raised significantly after being provoked by me. "Stop talking nonsense!"

I smiled faintly and continued, "Whether I deserve these clothes here, that's not for you to decide. But as for you..."

I looked her up and down with open contempt. "Everything you have now, you owe it all to climbing into Marius's bed. Without him, you are nothing."

Her face turned pale with anger, but she didn’t dare make a scene. Through gritted teeth, she spat, "Estelle, you are nothing now. I’ll soon be Mari’s wife, the mistress of the Marius family! You’re just jealous of what I have!"

I let out a cold laugh. "Mistress? A woman who climbed her way up as a mistress, worthy of that title? The mistress of the family belongs to me, Estelle, and only me!"

Thinking that I still coveted Marius's wife status, Rosalind laughed disdainfully, "You? Dream on, you..."

I stepped forward, raised my hand, and slapped her hard.

She froze, clutching her face in disbelief. "You crazy woman! What are you doing?!"

I smirked. "You already called me a crazy woman, do I need a reason to hit you?"

I raised my hand again, meeting her eyes. "This slap is a warning for you. I don't care about being the mistress of his family, but I will definitely reclaim what is rightfully mine, and I will do it myself!"

Without another glance, I pushed past her and left.

Rosalind didn't dare to make a scene and could only watch me leave helplessly.

She covered her face, eyes full of anger, muttering under her breath, "Estelle, you dare hit me? I’ll make you regret it!"

I continued shopping at the mall, picked out a few suitable clothes, and returned home satisfied.

After putting everything away, I called the lawyer Lyra had recommended.

"Hello, I'm Estelle... I want a divorce."

Since I had realized the mistake in this disastrous marriage, it was time to end it as soon as possible.

Two hours later, I walked into Creations with the lawyer and the divorce agreement.

In the office, Rosalind was curled up in Marius’s arms, her eyes red with tears as she exaggerated, “Estelle suddenly got angry at me for no reason, accusing me of seducing you, being your mistress... and even pushed me."

"I just love you. Why would she say such things about me?"

Hearing this, Marius immediately put down the documents in his hand and comforted her gently, "Don't worry, I will definitely teach her a lesson. With me here, I won't let you be wronged.”

Rosalind leaned against him, a smug smile playing on her lips where he couldn't see. She sobbed. "I really didn't expect her to say so many hurtful things."

I pushed open the office door without warning and caught sight of the scene, a wave of disgust washing over me. The lawyer behind me stepped in, quickly looked away, and awkwardly adjusted his glasses.

Before long, we were seated facing each other on the sofa. I tossed the divorce agreement in front of Marius and said coldly, "Sign it."

Marius picked up the document, frowning at the bold words on it. “Estelle, what madness is this again! Believe me, I can have someone throw you out right now and give you a good beating!”

I looked at him calmly and said slowly, "I'm not crazy, I just see how disgusting you really are. As for beating me, I suggest you think twice. I brought a lawyer and a video camera today; everything is being recorded."

“You’re going to sign this divorce agreement, and you’re going to leave with nothing!”

No morals, no decency, no humanity, leaving him with nothing was already letting him off lightly. But the most important thing now was leaving him.

Marius slammed the divorce agreement on the table. “Leave with nothing?! Estelle, you’re dreaming. I’m not signing!”

Rosalind leaned against the armrest of the sofa, sneering from the side. “You, a woman who just got out of prison, where do you get the courage to make demands? Asking Mari to leave with nothing? What a joke!”

I looked up, a cold glint in my eyes. I stood and strode toward Rosalind, my hand closing around her pale neck.

Her eyes went wide in shock before she began clawing at my hands in panic.

Marius shot to his feet, shouting, “Estelle, have you lost your mind?! Let her go!”

Seeing the urgency on his face, I let out a mocking smile. “Oh, you’re really protecting her, huh?”
