Chapter 1: You Will Never Be Worthy Of Being My Mate

At the anniversary of the mating ritual on the twenty-fourth of January, Cassandra Raeburn sat expressionlessly on the sofa, her gaze fixed on the day highlighted in a bold red circle on the calendar.

Slowly, she closed her eyes.

If they were just an ordinary couple, they would have been celebrating their anniversary at this moment. Instead, she was nestled in the chilly bedroom sofa, occasionally glancing at the full moon outside.

Six years ago, under a similar full moon, she and Thaddeus Fallon had engaged in a mating ritual that didn't receive the blessings of others.

Cassandra knew that the werewolves from Dark Moon Pack were all eagerly anticipating Meredith Gardner to become their new Luna. Everyone could clearly see Alpha's love for Meredith.

A large crowd of pack members stood by, coldly observing this mating ritual. It was the most desolate and bleak ceremony they had ever witnessed, and it was clear that the Alpha was participating reluctantly and without any real desire.

“The position of Luna should have originally been Meredith's,” said the woman speaking from below the stage. She was Alpha's mother, Sienna Wagner. Her eyes were filled with resentment as she continued, “That despicable b*tch, Cassandra, threatened Alpha into choosing her as Luna!”

“To be honest, Cassandra is the most shameless female werewolf I've ever encountered in my life!” someone echoed Sienna, “Sandstrider Pack truly specializes in producing despicable individuals!”

“Exactly, they forcefully separated Alpha and Meredith. Such a despicable person will inevitably face retribution one day!”

Cassandra wasn't deaf. In fact, her hearing was exceptional, so she clearly heard every single insult from the audience below the stage. The rage of her inner wolf, Haley, was as uncontainable as a stormy sea. “What do they know? What do they mean you threatened the Alpha? Cassandra, could you stand up for yourself? Loudly tell everyone what the truth is! I've had it with this b*stard of an Alpha! There has not been a single word of explanation from him, not even giving you a chance to clear things up! That b*stard!”

Haley was in a state of rage, yet Cassandra kept her suppressed.

The truth no longer mattered. What was crucial was the completion of the mating ritual. Ignoring Haley, Cassandra trembled as she took one step at a time, moving toward Thaddeus all by herself.

Thaddeus frowned as he watched Cassandra approach him, his eyes filled with impatience. This mating ritual was causing him immense irritation. He could also hear the soft jeers directed at Cassandra from a section of the werewolves in the audience.

Thaddeus' lips twitched slightly, but in the end, he chose to remain silent. This was the path Cassandra herself had chosen, so it was only natural for people to criticize her.

Cassandra noticed the impatience and resentment in Thaddeus' eyes. Unable to hold back, the inner wolf within her spoke up again. “Are you sure you want to become Thaddeus' Luna? I can't even begin to imagine how miserable your life will be in Dark Moon Pack! Why? Why are you insistent on walking into this trap?”

Cassandra took a deep breath, forcing a smile onto her face. She comforted Haley, but it felt like she was also reassuring herself, “Haley, I chose this path myself. No matter how tough or painful it gets, I won't regret it.”

“Alpha Thaddeus, are you willing to accept Cassandra as your mate, to regard her as your one and only Luna in this life, and to devote your life to Dark Moon Pack, until death do you part?” said the elder of Dark Moon Pack as he hosted the mating ritual. Under the bright full moon, the surroundings were eerily quiet.

Thaddeus remained silent for a while, leading the pack members to believe that Alpha was going to refuse. Just as they were ready to breathe a sigh of relief, Alpha's deep voice broke the surrounding tranquility.

“I, Thaddeus, am willing to accept Cassandra as my mate. In this life, I regard her as the sole Luna of Dark Moon Pack. I will stand by her side, pledging my lifelong loyalty to Dark Moon Pack, until death do us part,” he declared.

As Cassandra listened to these vows, she couldn't help but let her tears fall. She was fully aware that she was consciously falling deeper.

She was fully aware that Thaddeus didn't love her. She knew just how insincere he was when he made those vows.

Yet, she, undeterred by the consequences, rushed to Thaddeus' side like a moth to the flame.

“Ms. Cassandra, would you accept Alpha as your mate, considering him as your one and only Alpha for life, pledging your loyalty together to Dark Moon Pack, until death do you part?”

“I accept Thaddeus as my mate, and will consider him as my one and only Alpha in this lifetime. Together, we pledge our loyalty to Dark Moon Pack, until death ultimately does us part.”

When Cassandra voiced this vow, she felt a trace of happiness. Her inner wolf was howling in misery, but she chose to ignore it at that moment.

“Cassandra, you will never be worthy of being my mate!” Thaddeus said as he leaned toward Cassandra's neck, his warm breath cascading onto her skin, sending shivers down her spine.

“In this lifetime, only Meredith is worthy of being my mate and Luna,” Thaddeus declared. After he uttered these words, Cassandra felt a sharp pain emanating from her neck. Thaddeus' teeth had sunk into her flesh, and soon after, she felt a numbness spreading from the bite.

A surge of potent energy coursed through Cassandra's body as the mating ritual between them was officially completed. Once the mark was completed, the moon acknowledged Cassandra as the Luna of Dark Moon Pack.

“Cassandra, you're unworthy!” Alpha's icy gaze was like a sharp blade, mercilessly piercing Cassandra's heart. On the night of the mating ritual, Cassandra's heart had been tormented by the blade for six long years.

Suddenly, Cassandra's eyes snapped open, her forehead damp with cold sweat that wet the stray strands of hair there. At that moment, the spot on her neck that had been marked throbbed with intense pain.

No one had ever told her about the side effects of an Alpha's reluctant mark. The marked area would occasionally throb with pain, sometimes so intense that it made her wish for death.

Chapter 2: You Need To Move Out

“Cassandra Raeburn, you little w*nch! You're hiding in your room again, aren't you? Look at the time. Why haven't you made us any food? Do you want Lucian and me to starve?”

From downstairs, the scolding voice of Sienna echoed. Ever since that night when she became part of Dark Moon Pack, Sienna had treated her like a servant, ordering her to do laundry and cook every day.

When Alpha Thaddeus first marked her, she indeed felt the powerful force of Alpha coursing through her body. However, that sensation was fleeting, and soon after, the power within her completely vanished.

During the six years she was mated with Thaddeus, his mother would constantly berate her behind her back. She was called a useless Luna, devoid of any power within her. It was said that even the most average adult werewolf in their Dark Moon Pack could easily dominate her.

When she was truly thrust onto the battlefield, she found herself incapable of leading her pack in battle. Even more, she required special protection from her pack members.

No one was quite sure what was going on, or why Alpha's power had vanished within her. Over the past six years, even Haley was at a loss as to why the power had disappeared.

After careful consideration, Cassandra and Haley concluded that the problem probably stemmed from Alpha's initial marking. It seemed as if he hadn't truly accepted Cassandra from the bottom of his heart.

“Hey, b*tch! Come down now and help me pack my bag. I still have school tomorrow!” a young boy urged.

Lucian Fallon was the younger brother of Thaddeus. Even though he didn't have an inner wolf at that time, he was nothing short of a little demon, always causing trouble for Cassandra.

To him, Alpha's Luna was weak and unassertive, which made easier to bully than even the smallest of puppies.

Cassandra casually wiped off the cold sweat from her forehead, quickly descended the stairs, and entered the kitchen to prepare food. She also arranged the lunchbox and packed the bag for Lucian.

“Mom, Lucian, dinner's ready! We can eat now.”

Sienna was infuriated by the sight of Cassandra, who looked like a zombie. She gave Cassandra a disdainful glance and scolded, “How dare you give me that attitude at my dinner table, you little b*tch! Do you want me and Lucian to enjoy our meal or not? You've got such a wretched face! I'll call Alpha this instant and have him break the bond with you!”

“That old b*tch! She's the one with a wretched face!” For the past six years, Haley had always referred to Sienna that way. Out of the whole pack, it was Sienna who bullied Cassandra the most. Yet, ironically, Cassandra still respected her as Alpha's mother.

Cassandra tightly clenched her fists, took a deep breath, and somehow managed to squeeze out a faint smile as she said, “I'm not giving you attitude, Mom.”

Sienna was incredulous, her voice laced with sarcasm as she said, “Cassandra, don't think just because you have Mom backing you up, that you've secured your position as Luna. When compared to Meredith, you're nothing!”

Upon hearing that woman's name, Cassandra's face turned pale.

Lucian's eyes flickered, clearly noticing something, and he said with a grin, “You're not aware yet, are you? Meredith is about to be discharged from the hospital, and my brother is planning to bring her back to Dark Moon Pack. The Alpha of Storm Pack has also agreed for his daughter to move in, so she'll be living with us in the future.”

Cassandra's eyelids twitched, her lips trembling ever so slightly.

“Meredith again! Didn't that woman enter a vegetative state six years ago? To think she could actually wake up after being in a coma for six years! She's really something else!” Haley couldn't help but voice her disdain. Upon hearing the name Meredith, Haley's words were filled with contempt.

Sienna looked down on Cassandra for putting on an act of self-pity. She scoffed, waving her hand impatiently, “Don't stand in front of me! You're ruining my appetite! Now, scram!”

Without a moment's pause, Cassandra prepared to turn and ascend the stairs, when she heard the sound of a car outside the door.

Cassandra's eyes lit up suddenly, and she scampered to the living room to welcome Alpha home.

A man with a slender figure in a suit stepped out of the car. His handsome features and exceptional demeanor made him even more attractive than the biggest stars on television.

Upon catching sight of Cassandra standing at the doorway, their eyes met for a brief moment.

His gaze was icy, devoid of any warmth. Then his brows furrowed, his eyes filled with impatience.

Cassandra was accustomed to such gazes. A tug appeared at the corner of her mouth, void of any trace of amusement.

After Thaddeus entered the living room, Cassandra followed him as she usually did, attending to Alpha's meal. However, today, Alpha unusually initiated the conversation with her by saying, “I have something to tell you.”

Thaddeus glanced at Sienna and Lucian, who were eating in the living room, then added, “Let's continue this conversation upstairs in the bedroom.”

Sienna rushed forward to her son with a complaint. “Thaddeus, you're finally back! This woman has been giving me and Lucian the cold shoulder day in and day out!”

“Exactly! She can't even be bothered to cook! If such a simple task is beyond her, then how can we expect her to protect us in battle?” Lucian joined in, mocking Cassandra.

Thaddeus simply stood there and cast a casual glance at the two of them. Feeling the overpowering aura of an Alpha, they immediately shut their mouths.

The two of them then entered the bedroom, one after the other. As soon as the door closed, Cassandra found herself locked in Thaddeus' gaze.

His dark eyes were filled with indifference and alienation as he stared at her, but they were devoid of any warmth.

Thaddeus' thin lips moved slightly as he said in a deep voice, “Meredith is coming back, so you need to move out tomorrow.”

Cassandra's heart gradually grew cold.

So, Lucian was right about what he said...

“No, I refuse!” Her voice was soft, yet carried an unwavering determination. Haley sensed her resolve and was filled with a newfound vigor as well.

However, no matter how enthusiastic they were, they both had to bow down before Alpha.

Thaddeus furrowed his brows.

For the first time, the woman who had always followed his words and plans was defying him.

His voice turned icy as he said, “What gives you the right to refuse? Don't forget how you ended up marrying me six years ago.”

Chapter 3: In Case Of An Unexpected Demise

How could Cassandra possibly forget?

When Meredith had her car accident, it was Cassandra who called the emergency hotline. She was also the one who donated Rh-negative blood to Meredith. Thaddeus was grateful to her and promised to fulfill Cassandra's request.

At the time, Cassandra had only one request—to become Thaddeus' only mate, to be his Luna.

It was a thought that took deep root in her heart the moment she first saw Thaddeus in high school.

Back then, only when the doctor had declared that there was no chance of Meredith waking up that Thaddeus begrudgingly agreed to her request.

However, Thaddeus had always been indifferent toward her.

Cassandra lifted her chin, staring at him unflinchingly. “Thaddeus, don't you even realize that I am your destined mate? Why should I have to move out just because she's back?”

Thaddeus' gaze suddenly shifted toward her, the expression on his face gradually darkening. The profound depth in his eyes became even more terrifying. “Why? Because Meredith claimed that you were the one who hit her with your car six years ago!”

Cassandra was initially taken aback, then she surprisingly laughed, though her laughter held a touch of bitterness. “So whatever Meredith says is the truth! Let me ask you, did you personally investigate this?”

Thaddeus steadily approached her, ultimately cornering her against the wall. His voice was icy as he challenged her, “So, do you think I should trust Meredith, or you, a woman known for your scheming ways?”

The man had been staring at her with his dark eyes.

There was nothing but disgust and disdain in his eyes.

“I didn't!” Cassandra firmly pressed her lips together.

Thaddeus looked down at her condescendingly, his dark eyes cold and icy, devoid of any warmth. “You're a smart woman. You should know what to do.”

Then, he left, leaving nothing but a cold, silent room behind.

Cassandra looked at her reflection in the mirror, her complexion pale and weary, yet filled with rage.

“Cassandra...” Haley softly called out to Cassandra, sensing an unprecedented anger brewing deep within her. “Why would Meredith, that despicable woman, frame you! You clearly haven't done anything so contemptible.”

Haley couldn't help but feel a sense of regret for Cassandra. She used to be such a proud individual, yet in this relationship, she had been reduced to such a humble state.

It was truly laughable. This so-called destined mate was nothing short of a disaster for Cassandra.

After a long while, Cassandra slowly exhaled. “Meredith! How dare you frame me!”

In the still of the night, Cassandra stealthily made her way to the hospital, locating the ward where Meredith was staying.

As Luna from Dark Moon Pack, Cassandra had the authority to accurately locate Meredith's hospital room.

Shrewd as Cassandra was, she specifically chose a time when Thaddeus was absent to confront Meredith, and she also brought along a pen recorder.

The top floor of the hospital was exclusively for VIP patients.

Upon locating Ward 1203, Cassandra gave a knock on the door. Then, pressing down on the handle, she pushed the door open and walked right in.

On the sickbed, the delicate woman appeared to be startled. However, upon recognizing her visitor, a hint of a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. “Ms. Raeburn, you gave me quite a fright barging in here in the middle of the night.”

Cassandra tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Her smile was warm, yet she appeared distant. “Did you tell Alpha that I hit you with my car?”

With an innocent look on her face, Meredith said, “Isn't that the truth? Back then, weren't you jealous of me being with Alpha? It was you who wanted to run me over with a car.”

“Meredith, you accused me of being the murderer in front of Alpha, all just to see me ousted from Dark Moon Pack, didn't you? But aren't you being a bit naive?” Cassandra scoffed. “After being unconscious for six years, have you gone foolish?”

Over the course of six years, even if the pack members didn't particularly like her, they gradually came to accept and get used to Cassandra being Luna. Meredith wanted to replace Cassandra, but it wasn't going to be easy, especially with the matriarch of Dark Moon Pack, Agnes, around.

Agnes was a traditionalist. She firmly believed that an Alpha should be with his fated Luna, as this was the only way the Moon Goddess would bestow blessings upon the pack.

In the foreseeable future and throughout her life, Cassandra would always be Thaddeus' Luna.

Clearly, Meredith had also considered this aspect, and in an instant, her gaze toward Cassandra was filled with murderous intent.

Haley sensed the dangerous aura emanating from Meredith. She cautioned Cassandra, “Be careful. I didn't detect her inner wolf, but I can tell she alone is not an easy adversary.”

“Even if I'm branded with disgrace, I remain the Luna of Dark Moon Pack, the mate gifted to Alpha by the Moon Goddess. And you? You'll forever be nothing more than a mistress,” Cassandra retorted without hesitation.

Since Meredith dared to slander her, there was no reason for her to speak politely with Meredith.

The term “mistress” sharply pierced through Meredith's heart. Only she knew best how she had won the love of the Alpha, Thaddeus.

Meredith's hands were tightly clenched, her nails almost digging into her palms. Her eyes, blazing with fury, were fixed intently on Cassandra. It was this b*tch, Cassandra, who had stolen everything from her!

Urged by Haley, Cassandra left the hospital room. She was unable to coax a confession out of Meredith from this trip, but at least she had a clear understanding of Meredith's attitude toward her.

“Be careful, this woman and her pack aren't to be trifled with,” Haley warned seriously. The audacity of a woman without a wolf to act so brazenly in front of Cassandra was a clear testament to the strong backing Thaddeus and her own pack provided her.

“Kill her!” Meredith's eyes were a blazing crimson, her voice hoarse as she commanded over the phone, “Kill her!”

Under the high-hanging full moon, Cassandra continued to navigate through the forest. Soon, she and Haley noticed that they were being followed by two figures.

Instantly, Cassandra transformed into a beautiful, pure white wolf. Two figures clearly bearing ill intent followed behind her, but she was not keen on a direct confrontation.

During the six years she spent in Dark Moon Pack, her strength showed no signs of improvement. In fact, her physical condition seemed to deteriorate progressively.

The two figures behind her let out a wolfish howl. Clearly, they had transformed and were now tracking her.

“Run, Cassandra! These two wolves are clearly after your life!” No sooner had Haley finished his words than a black wolf from behind pounced on Cassandra, biting into her shoulder. It tore a chunk of flesh from her, causing her to cry out in pain as blood spurted from her wound.

A black wolf stood in front of Cassandra, blocking her path, while another wolf cut off her escape route from behind.

Cassandra wanted to run in a different direction, but the wolf lunged at her from behind, attacking her abdomen. Its sharp claws tore through her belly, and she could distinctly feel her flesh being ripped apart. The sharp pain radiated to every limb, yet she was powerless to fight back.

Subsequently, a brown wolf forcefully kicked her toward a nearby large tree.

With a resounding crack, the large tree was hit and broken. Cassandra realized that her ribs were also broken. She turned her head, breathing weakly and trembling all over.

“Cassandra! He... his claws, they're poisoned!” Haley exclaimed in shock. The claws were coated with wolf's poison. It was clear that they didn't want Cassandra to survive.

“Who...cough, cough,” Cassandra found it difficult to even breathe. “Who sent you?”

The two wolves didn't respond to her. Instead, they lunged at her simultaneously. The black wolf's sharp teeth pierced through her throat. This was the first time Cassandra had experienced the taste of death up close.

“Haley... I'm... sorry...” No wolf could survive a sufficient dose of poison. At this point, Cassandra could no longer sense Haley.

Cassandra couldn't accept it. If she were to die just like this, what would become of her Sandstrider Pack? Meredith had even falsely accused her, so what would happen to her reputation? And there was Quentin, who would surely grieve upon learning of her death...

After six years as Dark Moon Pack's Luna, was this really how it would end?

If only we could relive all of this, how wonderful that would be?

Cassandra watched as the two wolves gradually approached her, the cool moonlight reflecting off her face. Her emerald green eyes radiated a deep, haunting glow, filled with regret and defiance. After a long moment, she closed her eyes, and tears fell.

No one knew that the Luna of Dark Moon Pack had met her end so mysteriously in a secluded forest, and on the very day of her wedding anniversary at that.

Chapter 4: Am I Reincarnated

“Cassandra Raeburn, you little w*nch! You're hiding in your room again, aren't you? Look at the time. Why haven't you made us any food? Do you want Lucian and me to starve?”

The piercing sound echoed, and Cassandra opened her eyes. Her voice was hoarse, and the intense pain felt as if it was tearing her body apart. She was in such agony that her body arched, and she abruptly sat up, the upper half of her body erect.

She touched her throat, then her shoulder and abdomen. Her eyes widened in surprise. What just happened?

She remembered her encounter with two wolves in the forest. She was defenseless and, in no time at all, the wolves had her cornered and killed.

The distant yet steadfast voice of “Cassandra” was her wolf's call.

“Haley?” Cassandra called out again.

“Yes, Cassandra. I'm here.”

“What's going on? I thought you had left me,” Cassandra exclaimed, both shocked and thrilled.

“Yes, but I returned because you were reincarnated,” Haley explained. “A werewolf with a restless heart who dies on a full moon night is granted a second chance by the Moon Goddess. However, this requires an incredibly strong conviction.”

Cassandra found this utterly unbelievable, as if she were in a dream. However, she trusted that Haley wouldn't deceive her.

If she had truly been reincarnated, then the next course of events should be that rascal Lucian urging her to come downstairs and pack her things.

In the next moment, Lucian's irritating voice could be heard.

“Hey, b*tch! Come down now and help me pack my bag. I still have school tomorrow!”

Cassandra widened her eyes, wanting to double-check. However, Haley urged her to go downstairs. As expected, it was Sienna who was showing her displeasure, complaining about the poor quality of the meal.

Cassandra hurriedly descended the stairs, only to find Sienna and Lucian wearing expressions of impatience. She clenched her fist tightly, managing to suppress the surge of anger welling within her.

“Cassandra, don't be rash. We can't let others know about the reincarnation! The repercussions would be grave,” Haley warned in a hushed tone.

Cassandra pursed her lips, moving into the kitchen. Half an hour later, she emerged, carrying the prepared meals.

“Dinner's ready.” Her face was void of any hint of a smile.

“How dare you give me that attitude at my dinner table, you little b*tch! I'll call Alpha this instant and have him break the bond with you!”

Just as she remembered, Cassandra's eyes widened in disbelief. Indeed... she had truly been reincarnated. This was no dream.

“Alpha will be home soon, and he'll discuss moving out of the pack with you!” Haley continued to remind.

A sharp pain suddenly seized Cassandra's heart, her mind racing on how to handle the situation. She paid no mind to the incessant curses and insults hurled from Sienna and Lucian behind her.

The words spoken were identical to those in her past life, essentially implying that Cassandra was not worthy of being Luna and that Meredith was about to return and so on.

Upon hearing the name Meredith, Cassandra's eyes narrowed slightly. In her past life, it was after seeking Meredith that she was pursued and killed by those two werewolves. Her death, she realized, was inextricably linked to Meredith.

She turned around and found them looking at her. One was impatiently watching her, while the other had a face that seemed eager for some drama. They were just waiting for Cassandra to show a distressed and heartbroken expression.

Unfortunately, the present Cassandra had already become immune to these verbal attacks.

She took a deep breath, her face adorned with a faint smile as she looked at the mother and son. “So? You've been saying you'd drive me out of Dark Moon Pack for six years now.”

Sienna had never expected that Cassandra, who had been compliant for six years, would dare to talk back. She pointed her forefinger at Cassandra, scolding, “You! You! You little wretch! You've learned to answer back now! Who gave you the nerve!”

“Lucian, fetch me the whip! I'll make sure this b*tch learns the rules of Dark Moon Pack!”

Cassandra let out a cold laugh. Before Lucian could draw his whip, Alpha had already returned.

Alpha had a lean figure. His handsome features were extraordinary, and his aura was outstanding. It was not an overstatement to say he was even more attractive than the famous celebrities.

Upon entering the room, he saw his mother once again looking as if she was about to whip Cassandra. He couldn't help but frown at Cassandra, saying, “Let's go upstairs. I need to talk to you.”

Cassandra had grown tired of dealing with the brash Sienna behind her. As for the events about to unfold, she already had a plan in mind.

The pair found themselves in the study. Before Thaddeus could utter a word, Cassandra beat him to it. “Are you trying to push me out of Dark Moon Pack? Is it because your first crush has awakened?”

Thaddeus spoke in a deep voice. “Lucian told you? It's good that you know in advance. You should move out by tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Cassandra agreed decisively, appearing nonchalant on the surface, but in reality, she was feeling incredibly distressed inside.

Despite six years of trying, Cassandra failed to warm Alpha's cold heart. She felt she was quite unsuccessful as his destined mate.

Thaddeus watched her enduring all hardships thrown her way, and for a moment, he was filled with indescribable emotions.

Thaddeus frowned, his face cold, and his expression was unusually serious. He wasn't sure if her quick agreement was another one of her tricks.

“You better not play any tricks, nor think about bringing this matter to Grandma.” Thaddeus's dark eyes were icy cold, devoid of any warmth. “I know, it was you who hit Meredith with your car. After Meredith woke up, she told me she wouldn't hold you responsible. Pack up and leave tonight...”

“Thaddeus,” Cassandra interrupted him, “If I say it wasn't me, would you believe me?” Cassandra stared at Thaddeus with a serious expression. She knew the answer she would receive wouldn't change, but she still asked again, holding onto a sliver of hope.

Chapter 5: She No Longer Cared

Thaddeus steadily advanced toward her, ultimately cornering her against the wall. His voice was icy as he questioned, “Do you really think I would believe you?”

When he uttered those words, a wave of agonizing pain radiated from within him. It was that d*mned mark again, punishing him whenever he spoke harshly to his destined mate.

Any doubt or harsh remarks he cast upon his destined mate would only intensify his agony. Yet, Thaddeus felt doubting Meredith words was akin to questioning the love between them.

Compared to that, he was more inclined to believe in Meredith, whom he loved deeply.

Thaddeus's inner wolf howled in agony. The forced union of two destined mates who didn't love each other would cause even Orso, Thaddeus' inner wolf, to experience a heart-wrenching sensation.

“I didn't hit her with my car!” Cassandra stared intently into Thaddeus' eyes, her conscience clear and her tone unwavering.

Enduring the pain within, Thaddeus gazed down at her condescendingly. “You're a smart woman. You should know what to do.”

He left, leaving nothing but a room filled with cold silence.

“What a useless mate! I bet the Moon Goddess was napping when she was supposed to be blessing you,” Haley complained.

Thaddeus was certainly the most peculiar Alpha Haley had ever encountered up till now. He disregarded his destined mate, choosing instead to pursue his so-called “true love.”

Even if Dark Moon Pack were to face utter ruin in the future, it would surely be the Moon Goddess punishing him!

Luckily, Cassandra did not dwell in her sorrow for too long. Having been given a second chance at life, she knew she had to cherish the present more than ever. She couldn't afford to lose her life again in such a baffling manner.

In her previous life, she had impulsively sought out Meredith, only to end up being hunted down in the forest.

Therefore, she couldn't leave the house that night. Even if it wasn't Meredith who made the move, it was clear that there were others outside of the pack who wanted her dead.

The very next morning, Thaddeus took Meredith to the hospital for a follow-up check-up.

Cassandra stood before the mirror, discarding the apron she'd worn for six years and slipped into a white dress. Carrying her suitcase, she made her way downstairs.

Lucian was lounging with one leg crossed over the other, engrossed in the television. He glanced up. “Hey! Where are you going?”

Cassandra gave him a nonchalant glance, disregarding his presence and headed straight for the door.

Upon realizing that something was amiss, Lucian hastily stepped forward, grabbing hold of her suitcase. With a stern brow and cold gaze, he retorted, “Are you deaf? Didn't you hear me speaking to you? Have you cleaned the room? Have you cooked? Where on earth are you planning to go this early in the morning?”

At sixteen years old, the boy's wild side was already showing. Judging by his current immature antics, Cassandra couldn't bear to imagine just how much worse he could become in the future!

He not only lacked the slightest respect for his sister-in-law, but he even had the audacity to boss her around, giving orders left and right.

Cassandra carefully pried his fingers open, her face stern. “Listen here, you little rascal,” she said coldly, “All of you scoundrels from Dark Moon Pack, keep your distance! From this day forward, I'm done catering to you all.”

Even though she didn't exert much force, he deliberately yelled, “Mom! Mom, come quickly! This b*tch is bullying me!”

“What's wrong, Lucian?”

When Sienna descended the stairs, her face immediately turned pale. Cursing under her breath, she picked up a whip smeared with diluted wolf's poison and lashed it toward Cassandra. “Heavens! You vile creature, how dare you bully my son! I'll kill you!”

In the past, this elderly woman had not refrained from inflicting harm upon her. She would use a whip laced with diluted wolf poison. Although the wounds were not severe, they would leave her in immense pain for a couple of days.

Back then, she had endured it all for Thaddeus.

She, who had once tasted the bitterness of death, knew all too well that this whip played a part in her demise. Over the course of six years, the wolf poison laced on the whip had unknowingly seeped into her body, deteriorating her health to the point where she could no longer escape her fate.

Cassandra swiftly grabbed hold, with a strong tug she threw the whip to the ground. Her voice was icy cold. “I dare you to lay a finger on me again.”

Suddenly, Sienna was taken aback by her.

After realizing what had happened, she exclaimed, “Cassandra, you've crossed the line! I will have my son drive you out of the pack! I will even have him break the bond with you!”

The process of breaking the bond was excruciatingly painful. It wasn't an exaggeration to say that the party on the receiving end felt as if they had lost half their life. Sienna simply didn't believe that Cassandra, that little wretch, would want to terminate the mark.

In the past, out of respect for Agnes, and not wanting to be despised by Thaddeus, she always avoided conflicts with Sienna.

She used to be scared, but now, she didn't care anymore.

Cassandra spoke nonchalantly. “Whatever.”

Regardless of the tantrums thrown by those behind her, she departed, dragging her suitcase away from the territory of Dark Moon Pack.

As soon as she stepped out of their territory, a red Ferrari pulled up in front of her. The werewolf in the car was strikingly handsome and devilishly charming. He beckoned her, “Darling, hop in.”

Cassandra settled into the car, and the two of them departed.
