Chapter 1: Being Engaged

Everything for the biggest night of my life is set. Music pulses through the entire property, drinks are flowing nonstop, and over a thousand guests are here for the party of the year—my birthday party. I smile as I check the security cameras, catching glimpses of the crowd below, while the final touches are being made to my hair. Tonight, I need to look perfect. This is my first birthday as an adult, and I’m determined to own it.

"Everything’s ready, miss," the stylist says.

"I need to look amazing," I reply, studying my reflection. "I don’t want them to notice the brands I’m wearing, just how well they fit me. I don’t want them asking who did my hair, but how stunning I look with it. Did you manage that?"

"Absolutely, miss. You look breathtaking. Your style speaks for itself. We just enhanced what you already knew you had," she responds with a smile.

I give a nod of approval, glancing once more at the mirror. Perfect. "You can go ahead and join the party if you want. It’s up to you."

Leaving the room, I descend the stairs, and the moment I reach the bottom, a spotlight hits me. Cheers erupt as everyone breaks into "Happy Birthday," their applause echoing through the room. I take it all in, grinning to myself. More than half the university showed up at my vacation home, all just to celebrate me, and no one’s even thinking about tomorrow’s classes.

After all, my birthday is a concert where the most listened to singers come to give me a concert where I am the center of attention. So, who would miss something like that?

“Happy birthday, Day.” says every person who approaches me.

I’m popular, I’m rich, and I’m an only child. Life is perfect. No siblings to fight over the inheritance, a father who spoils me, and hundreds of people who would do anything just to catch my attention.

If the center of the world is some random planet or satellite, then I’m the center of the universe for everyone here—at least that’s how my astrology professor would explain it. Wait… or is it astronomy? Do I even take astrology?** I wonder, briefly distracted as I accept gift after gift, congratulations pouring in from every direction.

I brush off the thought and dive back into the fun, dancing and flirting with the cute guys at my party. Everything’s a blur of music and laughter. One of the bands pulls me up on stage, where the décor is filled with all the things I love, and we belt out my favorite songs together. The crowd cheers, and for a moment, it’s like I’m untouchable.

That is, until I spot a group of men dressed head-to-toe in black, making their way through the crowd. They look totally out of place—no sense of fashion and clearly not here to party.

Confused, I look for someone familiar and huff in annoyance when I see my father among them. My university classmates also recognize him and therefore, they back away in fear.

“Get down from there, Day."

“Daddy! Are you here to wish me a happy birthday?! You didn't have to come, we're having a great time here, daddy."

“Get down now, Day. I need to tell you something."

“Don't tell me you're going to give me the sports car I saw yesterday! Or you're going to give me the money to open the best nightclub in the world!” I shout excitedly and everyone cheers for it.

"Day, come down right now. I need to introduce you to someone."

“Daddy, they stopped giving people away like property ages ago. We’re in the 21st century,” I joke, and laughter ripples through the crowd.

But my father, who’s usually all smiles with me, isn’t amused. His expression hardens as he walks toward me, climbing onto the stage. He takes the microphone from my hand, his eyes locked on mine with a seriousness I’m not used to seeing.

"If you won’t come down, then I’ll just tell you from here," he says, turning toward the crowd that’s now hanging on his every word. "Friends of Day, thank you for being here tonight. I have a very important announcement to make—one I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to share."

"Dad, what's going on?" I whisper, sensing that he looks too serious to be giving me a birthday present.

"My daughter, who is no longer a teenager but a full-fledged adult from today, will be engaged to a great business partner, Ryan Volkova. So, let's give a big round of applause to the couple who will be getting married in two weeks," my father announces before applauding.

Everyone looks at each other, while I try to process what my father has just said. Everyone claps slowly, not understanding what is happening, while I search my father's face for any sign of a joke.

"Father... are you joking?"

"No, dear. You are going to marry Ryan. So, get ready, in two weeks you will be Mrs. Volkova," my father says into the microphone, making sure everyone hears.

"It can't be possible," I whisper, not knowing who the man the spotlight is searching for.

"So, patiently await the wedding invitation. Have a good night," my father says before stepping down from the platform.

Everything falls silent, and I react by running towards my father, who quickly leaves the place. I can only catch up with him as he is about to get into the car.

"Father, what's going on? What did you mean just now?" I ask, concerned.

"What I said, dear. You are getting married."

"Why so suddenly and to someone I don't know?"

"If you turn around, you can see me," a man behind me says, prompting me to turn and meet my supposed husband.

As soon as I do, I notice the man has blue eyes that remind me of water with my favorite relaxing fragrance: bubblegum.

"Hello, fiancée," the man says, looking like an old man.

"Are you eighteen?" I ask, hoping to offend him, as it's obvious he looks like a thirty-year-old man.

The man smiles, showing his dimples, and then shakes his head seriously.

"No, Day. I am thirty-three years old."

'I knew it! He's too old to be my age,' I think to myself.

Immediately, I turn to face my father.

"You can’t marry me off to this old man, Father. He could be my dad!" I blurt out, louder than I intended. All around me, I can feel the eyes of my friends and my classmates burning into my back. The humiliation is real, and I can feel the heat rising to my cheeks.

But my father doesn't even look at me. He turns instead to the man standing behind me—who I now realize is supposed to be my fiancé. "I’m terribly sorry, Mr. Volkova. My daughter... well, she's a bit unrefined. Still has some growing up to do."

"Growing up? I’m eighteen!" I snap, trying to reclaim some dignity, but it's useless. I feel trapped, like a spectacle. My so-called fiancé, this Mr. Volkova, is standing there, completely unfazed by my outburst. And of course, he’s... ugh, he’s attractive—dark hair, sharp jawline, annoyingly perfect dimples when he smirks—but he’s also thirty-something! Way too old and definitely too stiff for someone like me.

My father glares at me, voice colder than I’ve ever heard. "Then start acting like an adult, Day! You’re embarrassing yourself."

Embarrassing myself? He’s the one announcing my freaking engagement in front of everyone I know, and I’m supposed to just go along with it?

Before I can open my mouth to fire back, Mr. Volkova takes a step forward. His deep blue eyes, cool like ice water, fix on me, and for a split second, I freeze.

"I can assure you, Day," he says smoothly, "this is happening. And running away isn’t an option."

Who does this guy think he is?

My heart pounds in my chest, but not in the way it’s supposed to when you meet your future husband. No, this feels more like... dread. Whatever this twisted setup is, I didn’t agree to it, and I have no clue why my father is forcing it on me.

I glance over my shoulder at the crowd. Half the school is here. I invited them all to celebrate my birthday—this was supposed to be the best night of my life. Instead, it’s turned into a disaster, with over a thousand people now whispering and snickering about my humiliation. Perfect. My life isn’t just a mess, but also now a schoolwide joke.

I whip back around to my father, desperation creeping into my voice.

"Why are you doing this?" I demand, but his hard expression gives nothing away.

Something tells me this is only the beginning of the nightmare.

Chapter 2: Pervert

The music starts playing again, while I feel the ground beneath my feet crumbling, taking me to the deepest darkness. In less than ten minutes, my father has done things he had never done before.

“Father, what's happening? Why are you acting strange?"

“I am acting as I should have always done."

“No. You never crashed my parties, never yelled at me, and certainly never engaged me to an unknown old man who could be my father because of his age!"

All the words I wanted to say to show my discontent with my father die in my thoughts when I feel a strong slap on my cheek.

“Stop being a fool who only knows how to offend! Mr. Volkova has been tolerant of your inappropriate behavior, but I am not!” my father shouts as I step back, stunned by the blow.

“You hit me.” I whisper in a muted voice.

“I don't want to hit you, Day. But I won't allow you to offend someone who is treating you with respect.

“How do you expect me to react if you are going to marry me off to an old man I don't even know?!

“That's what these two weeks before the wedding are for. So stop being a spoiled girl and get used to the idea that in two weeks you will no longer be a Creswell but Mrs. Volkova.

“I won't do it! I refuse to be the wife of this old man or any man you want to put by my side!” I shout before running away.

“Day!” my father shouts.

But I ignore his call. If he wants to decide for me, he can't blame me for being a girl who doesn't listen to his calls. He's acting strange, so don't expect me to act the same as always.

So, I run as if death itself were chasing me, while crying feeling my cheek hurt. He had never spoken to me like that before, let alone hit me, but tonight he acted strangely.

“That's not my father! My sweet daddy wouldn't do something like this to me!” I shout as I run, wiping my cheeks at the same time, causing me to stumble and fall, scraping my knees and palms.

On the ground, I look at my wounds and cry, while several thunders are heard, the rain falls heavily, soaking me completely. So, I cry and scream knowing that the perfect birthday I had planned for months has been ruined in a matter of minutes.

“It can't be, now I will be the girl who will get tired of an old man. How horrible! The whole university will know that I will marry a stranger.” I say in the midst of tears.

“Did no one tell you that being thirty-three is not old age?" a man with an umbrella asks, preventing himself from getting wet.

“Where did you come from?"

“From the car, obviously.” the man says, pointing to the car that has stopped on the other side of the street.

“What do you want?"

“I was enjoying how good you are at running, but the landing was more entertaining."

“Screw you, whoever you are.” I say, getting up abruptly.

But the pain of the fall makes me stagger, and it is the man in front of me who with agility, surrounds my waist with his thick arm and presses me to his body, so that I can see what the umbrella hides.

“Things are simple, Day. You will be my wife and nothing will change that. In two weeks, whether by your own will or tied and gagged, we will be husband and wife."

“So, it's up to you if you want to be a good girl and accept this so you can enjoy everything, or if you want to make your life a torment. Because, even if you think I'm an old man, I have a lot of energy and endurance to keep up with you and enjoy all the drama you will put on to resist your fate.”

Quickly, I move away from him abruptly and that amuses him, allowing me to see his dimples again.

'He's attractive, but not for me. I'm practically a baby to him,' I tell myself mentally.

“What did you tell my father to make him accept this madness? Are we bankrupt and I have to marry to help my father recover financially? Did you fall in love with me and buy me? Do you want me as a substitute wife? Do you need to inherit something and have to get married?" I ask trying to understand the real reason for this union.

“Stop watching strange soap operas, Day. They're damaging your mind.” says the man lightly pressing his index finger in the middle of my forehead.

“Tell me your intentions with me.” I say moving his finger away from me.

“My intentions are clear: to marry you."

“For what?"

“So we can do what husbands and wives do, obviously.” says the man and I immediately cover myself with my arms and hands.

“Stay away from me!” I snap.

“Oh, so you're a pervert. You only think about sex. That's good. I'll put it this way: be a good girl so you can ride me soon and moan under my sheets, or you can misbehave and make that incredible moment of pleasure take longer to happen.”

“Pervert? ME? You must be joking!”

“No, Day. I don't joke, I'm a successful businessman, attractive, with a lot of money and what should interest you the most, judging by your reaction earlier... with a member big enough that knows how to use it to give you a lot of pleasure.

“As I see it, you should be celebrating more than you were at your birthday party, instead of looking so pitiful and foolish.” he says and I feel like I have reached the maximum level of indignation.

“You called me foolish?! “I shout and he turns around, raising his hand.

So, I hit his back, but all I manage to do is hurt myself, because what I find are stones instead of skin and muscles.

“Only fool acts on impulse and therefore, hurts themselves. Day, I will be your husband, not your executioner or a source of pain.” he says and then, he bends down and quickly, he wraps my legs around his shoulders.

“What the hell are you doing?! “I shout annoyed.

Shortly after, something comfortable receives my back and the rain no longer touches me, because I am inside the car. The mysterious man enters and immediately, we start moving. Dazed, I analyze the situation and start kicking and screaming when my legs are over his.

“Let me go, you pervert!” I shout.

Chapter 3: Going To His House

The man quickly immobilizes me, making me spin so fast that I feel dizzy, but before I can even recover from the dizziness, he spanks me, stealing my breath.

"Behave, little one. Let me first heal your wounds and then you can throw your tantrum like a spoiled child," the man says as he runs something wet over one of my injured hands.

Although I try to resist, the gentle touch combined with his firm grip makes the pain more bearable, so I turn and let him tend to my wounds, while mentally cursing him.

After all, I can't hit my enemy or insult him when I don't know where he's taking me or how many people are following us.

"What do you want?" I ask.

"To heal your wounds. I promised your father I would protect you, and I have failed in record time. Which, I do not like at all," he says.

"Why should I marry you? If you like me, you're not the first to feel this way about me, but that doesn't mean I have to marry you."

"I did not ask your father for this, if that's what you think. It was he who came today asking me to marry you."

"It's not possible," I whisper, stunned.

"You should ask him for the reasons. What I want you to know is that I have accepted, and as the deal is already made, it will happen. So, I ask you again, do you want to make this pleasant or take the long and annoying road?"

"I will not marry you."

The man nods, but it's clear he doesn't care. So, I bite my lower lip feeling upset because it seems that neither he nor my father care about my discontent with this.

"Then you have chosen the long road," he says as the car stops.

He immediately gets out and opens a door that looks like an elevator. I look around and realize we are in a somewhat familiar garage. So, I enter the elevator, which closes behind me.

"Surely my father thought better of things when he saw me leave. I'm glad you brought me here, now I will be the one to have fun and feel satisfied when my father kicks you out of our lives," I say firmly.

The man beside me smiles but doesn't say anything. Instead, as soon as the metal door opens, he starts taking off his wet clothes. I freeze as soon as I step out of the elevator because even though the garage looks very similar to the elevator, it's not my home.

"Where are we?" I ask.

"A place where you will have fun and feel satisfied. What you didn't tell me is whether you will feel all that on your own or if you need my help," the man says, taking off his button-up shirt to reveal a body covered in many lines that clearly show he exercises a lot.

Quickly, I cover my eyes and turn away, knowing it's not polite to look at someone's naked body without their consent.

"You don't need to turn away. After all, you will see and touch it when we are husband and wife, Day," the man says behind me.

"Stop talking nonsense and take me home," I order.

From one moment to the next, I stop hearing his voice and that scares me. So, I look around without having the courage to turn around. Only when something falls on my head, do I scream and feeling something strong behind me, I throw myself at his body, clinging like an animal to his torso.

"Don't scream, I just threw clothes at you. Go change before you catch a cold and stay away from me. If you seduce me like that, I don't think I can wait for our wedding night," the man says, and immediately I move away from his body as if it were burning.

As soon as I do, the towel covering his body falls off and I must see something large being held captive by underwear that seems to have something dangerous inside.

"And I'm the pervert," the man mocks before leaving, while I cover my eyes in embarrassment.

"You did that on purpose," I shout, annoyed.

"I've already told your father that you're at my house. So, listen, he won't come to pick you up and he forbade me from sending you home. So, if you want to leave, go on your own."

"But before you do, I want you to be clear about where we are. My house is located in Inferno. Good luck finding transportation. But if, by some twist of fate, you can't leave, there are fifteen rooms in my house, choose one. I'll go work out, little one," the man says, and then disappears as if nothing happened.

"This must be a joke. My father can't just leave me stranded like this. He knows I won't be able to leave unless someone authorized by the property owner comes," I say as the puddle of water under my feet grows larger from the drops of water dripping from my clothes.

"What a great first birthday as an adult I've had," I tell myself mentally, shivering.

Although I can't complain, I had an excellent view that not even the most athletic person in college has, and that makes my bad night a little less bad.

"What are you thinking, Day?" I say, hitting my head. "I've lost all trace of sanity."

The imposing house greets me, and for that reason, I must move quickly. It's best to put on dry clothes and then think about how to leave. Because it's clear that I can't stay in a stranger's house.

Quickly, I find a room, where I enter and immediately shower and dress in dry clothes to be able to leave. When I'm in the room finishing getting dressed, the phone rings and I answer hoping to ask for help.

"Hello?"

"Day," says my father.

"Daddy," I say and start crying for everything that's happening to me.

"Don't cry. All of this is for your own good. I have to go on an important trip, so go to all the appointments to organize your wedding. Two weeks go by quickly, and that's why I need you to hurry."

"Daddy, come pick me up."

"Stay there. I don't want you to be alone at home. Day, be obedient, I need you to be, and that's why I'm going to freeze all your accounts. Only when you marry him, can you use them moderately. I love you, daughter, and I'm sorry," my father says, hanging up the call, making me scream and cry without stopping.

"This can't be happening to me," I tell myself mentally.

Chapter 4: Finding Myself

One week later

I pace back and forth, ever since they brought me here against my will, I haven't left. I have no way to communicate with my father, because no matter how much I call him, he doesn't answer.

I haven't gone to classes either, I couldn't do it when everyone will be asking me about what happened at my birthday party and how I left. So, I've been locked up in this strange house, not knowing what to do.

Fortunately, I haven't seen the old man I'm supposedly going to marry again, and the household staff is so kind that I feel comfortable here.

'Come to your senses, Day. How is it possible that you feel comfortable in your kidnapper's house?' I ask myself mentally, worried.

“Is something wrong, miss? “Amy, the housekeeper, asks.

“Amy, can a completely healthy and young woman develop Stockholm syndrome? “I ask with obvious concern.

“What is that?

“I need to get out or I'll go crazy. Surely, that's it.” I mutter with boredom.

“You can go out if you want. In fact, the gentleman told me that you can go back to university if you wish.” Amy says, and I immediately refuse.

“I don't want to go there. I don't feel capable of facing my friends.

“Miss, marrying the gentleman is not bad.

“If I were thirty, maybe not, but I'm just an eighteen-year-old girl who wants to enjoy life. I've been locked up here for a week like a prisoner, and that confirms my thoughts about him. He's a boring man, looking for a wife to make her his prisoner.

“It's not like that, if you want, we can go wherever you want for at least an hour, then we'll go shopping.

Joy runs through me when I hear the key phrase, and I immediately get up from my seat with renewed interest.

“Let's go shopping right away! That will definitely lift my spirits.” I say immediately, and Amy nods.

“Then, get ready to go out.

“That's how I'll go, I'll change clothes according to what I buy.” I say excitedly, and Amy nods.

Amy goes to get her bag, and I wait for her near the elevator identical to the one in my house. She smiles at me, and we both get into the car that I get to choose.

“After shopping, you can go back home if you want, although the gentleman informed me that his father has not yet returned from his trip.

“I can't understand how he can go on a business trip when he has left me with a strange man.

“He's not a strange man, he's your fiancé.” Amy says, and I ignore her knowing I can't contradict what she says.

As she told me, we go to several boutiques to buy various shoes and even underwear. Something that makes me blush, because she helps me choose things.

“Wait a moment, why is everything we've chosen white? “I ask, seeing my three beautiful pairs of shoes in different models but all white.

“The bride must wear white, miss. So, what we're buying should be that color.” Amy says, smiling at me, and I stop my happy walk.

“What did you say?

“We're buying everything for the wedding. It's only a week away, we must hurry.” Amy says, and I drop the bags that the bodyguards immediately pick up.

Quickly, I walk away from them, although they run after me shouting my name. Seeing that everyone is watching me, I run to one of the bathrooms where they cannot follow me.

"Miss, please. Don't make this complicated," Amy says, and I want to scream.

"I want to go to college. I'm tired of shopping."

"If you don't want to be with us, we understand, but please don't run like this."

"Take me to college, I want to attend classes."

'If I go there, I can ask for help from my friends and leave. I can hide for a month or more and live happily without being married to an old man,' I tell myself mentally.

"Alright, we'll take you," Amy says, and I leave the bathroom, to be escorted to the university shortly after.

Immediately, I enter the facilities in search of Angela, a good friend of mine who always does what she wants. Seeing that she is in class, I enter directly, take her by the arm, and leave with her, ignoring the professor's complaints.

"Take me away, Angela. It doesn't matter where, just hide me for at least a month," I say pleadingly.

"Calm down. Although I like drama, it's best if you explain to me what's going on and what you want."

"I want to clear my mind, help me with that, please."

"Perfect, I know the perfect place for that," Angela says, and immediately takes me to the parking lot where I cautiously get into her car and we drive away, ignoring the academic repercussions of our escape.

'For that, our parents make good donations,' I tell myself mentally.

During the trip, I tell her what happened to me this week and she mocks me, then consoles me with her perfect solution; a girls' night out at a nightclub.

When we arrive at her property, it's already night, so we hurry to dress up sexy and head to the biggest nightclub in the city, one where Angela is so well-known that we don't need to wait in line.

So, as soon as we arrive, we are taken to the liveliest part of the nightclub, where bodies touch and no one judges. Here, where there are many attractive guys who buy me drinks and smile at me, reminding me that there are very attractive men my age.

"You're too beautiful to be alone," says a blond guy with green eyes.

"Do I need an escort to have fun?"

"If I were your boyfriend, I would be your shadow, darling," the man says, wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Now imagine what I would do as your fiancé, to the bastard who dares to touch you," says someone with a cold voice.

The next thing I hear is the guy complaining in pain, so I move away from him and that's when I notice my fiancé.

"Have you had enough fun, fiancée?"

"I-I..."

The man pushes the guy and when he tries to escape, I am lifted onto his shoulder.

"Let me go!"

"I will, when I want to," he says, leaving the nightclub with me and getting into the car in a way that prevents me from moving.

"Leave me alone!"

"I can't."

"Sir..."

"Let's go to the bridal boutique, beautiful bride. We have clothes to buy. Since my fiancée didn't have time to do it this afternoon," the man informs with a murderous look.

'It's best not to speak or he could kill me,' I tell myself mentally as I feel like I can't even move because of his grip.

I was out for two seconds and I'm already in trouble, darn it, how did he find me?

Chapter 5: Black Wedding Dress

The man wasn't lying when he said we would buy our wedding attire, which is why I enter screaming and kicking at the boutique that only takes care of picking up my shoes and accessories that fall in the struggle.

The man twice my size throws me against a piece of furniture and watches me with his murderous gaze, preventing me from even moving.

"Take her to see all the wedding dresses, have her try on the ones she likes, and help her choose the best one," he orders angrily, before taking out his phone.

"You can't do this to me."

"I need everything prepared now," the man says as soon as he answers the call. "As you heard, we will get married today."

He says the last sentence while looking directly into my eyes, as if waiting for me to deny it so he can punish me. Even my rebellious side remains silent, realizing he might be capable of killing me if I refuse.

"Sir, is there a wedding dress for right now?"

"As I said. I want the perfect wedding dress. So, make sure to prepare it. I'll be back in three hours and we will get married," the man says as he walks towards the exit.

"If you were going to take me out of my moment of ecstasy, you should stay to make up for it!"

"I left an important meeting to come look for you. I have to finish some matters to marry my rebellious fiancée. So, behave or I will tie you up and drag you to the altar," he says as he leaves.

I immediately scream at the top of my lungs, but it seems to have no effect on him. He leaves as if I don't exist. Seeing that he's gone, I try to escape, but everyone seems to form a security ring where I can't get out.

Although I want to throw everything to hell and run away from here, I can't, because even though I don't choose dresses, the employees forcibly take off my clothes and put on dresses that I destroy.

"Look, miss. You can destroy five hundred dresses in this store. We don't care, because your fiancé will pay for everything. But, what you should know is that if you don't find a wedding dress here, they will take you to another boutique and the next one until they find one.

"Even if you destroy all the wedding dresses in the country at inhuman speed, it won't delay the wedding, because Mr. Volkova is so important that they are capable of bringing him the dress from the farthest country by jet so it doesn't take long. So, choose if you want to spend your next few hours throwing a fit or get out of this once and for all."

Anger overwhelms me because I'm not getting what I want, but I don't stop and take a step, not wanting to feel like the caged animal I already am.

"Fine, I won't destroy another wedding dress. But, I won't try on another one of these stupid dresses."

"Alright, tell us what you want and we'll get it for you."

"I want a black wedding dress," I demand angrily, and everyone looks at each other.

"What did she say?"

"I want a black wedding dress and a hat that only a fashion-blind widow would wear," I order, and everyone looks at each other.

The bodyguards look at each other with concern and nod, so the employees leave.

'If you want us to get married, we'll do it my way,' I tell myself mentally.

Four hours later.

The hours pass and the groom doesn't arrive. So, I celebrate internally while my dress barely arrives.

“Miss, we need to take you back, the gentleman had to leave on a business trip.

“So, there won't be a wedding?

“Not until he arrives.” the man says, and I celebrate.

“Then there will never be a wedding. Dress me in my wedding dress, if he doesn't come in an hour, I won't marry.” I say firmly.

Immediately, everyone prepares me as if I were getting married, while I savor the victory of not getting married and pretending to be hurt waiting for my fiancé, because he prioritized his business over our wedding.

The hour passes and I leave the room where they have quickly prepared me, smiling, I raise my gaze to make a scene of the abandoned bride, but what I find is two men smiling at me.

My father, in a black suit tailored to fit him, and my supposed fiancé, in white clothes with a black handkerchief.

“You look beautiful, fiancée.

“But, what happened? You were supposed to be on a business trip.” I say looking at the man who informed me of that.

“Oh, I was going to, but as soon as I found out you wanted to get married in an hour, I delayed the trip. Let's get married, darling.” he says approaching me and I step back trying to escape.

But he anticipates my movements and as if it were customary, he lifts me onto his shoulder while I hit his back and chest with my hands and legs.

“Let me go! I'm not going to marry you!” I shout, but he doesn't let go and that's why we leave in the same car where I shout many things at him, but nothing breaks his pride or strength.

As soon as the car stops, I cling to everything I can, but I am easily pulled out of the car, and then I see many flashes that leave me blind for several seconds.

“We are here to witness a surprising wedding! The future spouses not only were unpredictable with the colors chosen for their clothes, but they have made the wedding ceremony known only minutes before the ceremony!

“Is there anything you would like to say, Mr. Volkova?! “someone from the audience asks.

“Yes, try to make me look younger, I don't want anyone who sees the news to think a girl married an old man.

Everyone laughs.

“He would never be an old man. He looks like he's twenty years old, Mr. Volkova. Tell us your secret and why you look so good.
